Hello everyone,
I am a new member to Lateral-G.net. So far I like what I see here! There are some truly impressive builds/projects!$!$!
I have been a longtime member of maliburacing.net, MontecarloSS.com, and turbobuick.com. I'm in the middle of my Regal build and have shared my project at those sites, and thought I would start posting my progress here as well.
http://hotrodregal.com/
The Pro-touring scene looks like a lot of fun and is something I am very interested in as soon as I am on the road. I figure build'em to drive'em.
This is my first build up and is a very budget friendly project. Hope you enjoy the pictures and website.
Best Regards
-Matt

Thanks for the warm welcome!
FYI, I updated with my latest shiny parts today (Powermaster's), and I have a transmission out for rebuild as I write!
Going to re-tackle some suspension parts in the future as soon as they are received from SC&C... :)
Lastly selling my baer brakes complete set with b-body/second gen F body spindles on ebay too...so there will be some changes to the way things stop too!!!:G-Dub:

Its been awhile since updating... been busy with life I guess... oh well, still moving forward though.
I re-engineered the brake/suspension package recently, the pics are up on my website. All you autocross guys may find it interesting! www.HotRodRegal.com
I gotta say Marc Savitske knows his craft...check out www.SCandC.com (his website) while you are at it. The solution is a bit pricey, but making a G-body with near zero bumpsteer is an interesting concept. I'm going to give it a shot anyway, if my solutions don't work, I will let ya know

I guess I could post pics, but I would be blasting this thread with a lot of them!!! Also, this is not the only forum I am a member of, so I post to my website for ease of updating. This saves a TON of time only posting one set of pics vs. posting to 6 or 7 forums. Let me know if the link doesn't work though!

Matt I was going over your 'Plumbing to Be Cool' post on your web site and I like how you routed the steam vent. Might have to steal that idea.
For the lower radiator hose I would try a different one. It sits funny on the radiator outlet. A member here 67Rally used a 71244 hose and it worked perfect, more info here (http://www.camaros.net/forums/showpost.php?p=1812656&postcount=833). Just my 1 cent.

Thanks sebtarta ! I'm glad you like the idea... and you can try to steal it, but why??? I am giving it away for free ;)
The Radiator hose is just loose on the outlets right now and I plan to straighten them up later.. I still have some extra wiggle room in that hose, so it should be OK.. plus I plan to use PowerGrip fittings in the future... but more on that in a different post...
You will really like the latest post if you liked the BECOOL post though! I finished the LS steam vents using a steam vent kit from C&R Racing. I really liked their product... its all black and looks pretty cool. check it out - "LS Steam Vents - C&R Racing steam vent kit" Part numbers included!!!

More fun stuff, I have recently modified the truck coil brackets and had them powder coated (little over the top - but cheaper than buying aftermarket ones). That one is up also, used a local guy "Gateway Powder Coating" that did great work. always good to know of good service providers!

http://hotrodregal.com/flex-a-lite-fan-fits/
So its been awhile since my last update... sorry - gotta have time to actually work on things!!! [IMG]
this latest update is for making the Flex-a-lite 295 fit a non-Flex-a-lite radiator. I did not want to use the Flex-a-lite radiator for 2 reasons: 1. I already had the Be Cool radiator. 2. I don't want to clean between the mounting brackets on the Flex-a-lite radiator.
It is an easy install, and will might cool the engine pretty good since the dual electric fan moves 4600 cfm of air... and it looks pretty good too.
gunna have to check it out on the link if you wanna see the finished products (for both g-bodies - HotRodRegal and LSX El Camino)

also keep checking back - got some exciting exhaust work in the making!

Part 2 of the Exhaust for the Hot Rod Regal. Took the complete exhaust to have it ceramic coated to keep the heat down - and make it look cool

pretty cool to see the ceramic coating in raw form and then come out polished.

time for an update...
Eaton Detroit Truetrac installation into the Nodular Iron Ford 9" third member.
This post has 3 "How To" videos that might help you decide if you want to tackle this upgrade.
Roy Teeter (co-owner of P.E.M. Racing in St. Clair, MO) assembled the third member and Truetrac. Highly recommended!

Well, I just installed the UMI Performance rear shock tower brace part #3055... I like it, it fit perfect, and it makes sense. In the LSX El Camino my friend Greg is building, he has a completely different coil over shock set up and welded a cross bar to the frame where the shocks would normally mount and used his cross bar as the coil over upper mount point (very custom). I don't have that kind of room and my rear axle set up is not as custom as his... So, this UMI performance bar ties the frame together like his welded in coil over bar. I guess if a person really wanted to, they could weld this bar to the frame for additional rigidity - I won't be welding it though, simply because I like the bolt in application of this product.
This is really a no brainer for the the G-body... anything to stiffen the frame is good.
check out the install video here:

Talked to a few guys with bad tilt columns in their G-bodies. I had a column shift column for my G-body originally and swapped to a floor shift column. but there is a shifter linkage on the stock columns that is not used when using an electronic transmission (4L60e/4l80e). So my solution to these problems was a quick remedy from Ididit Inc. (click link for article and pics)
http://hotrodregal.com/ididit-universal-g-body-steering-column/
It's an option that not many G-body guys want to try since we have excellent columns usually... But what if you want something a little more crisp feeling than the stock column? Or (like my situtation) if you have a column shift car and want to switch to a floor shift column? Or if you just have a worn out stock column with a sloppy tilt...a Ididit Universal column or a custom built column is a good option.
http://hotrodregal.com/ididit-universal-g-body-steering-column/
hope this helps!
