67-69 Camaro or 70-73 Cuda>Must be Streetable/functional and Reliable

Cuda's are approaching 69 Camaro status as far as "Dime a dozen" status goes in Magazines. They are everywhere along with other Mopars.

I think cuda is the way to go. More companies are building high performance parts for them. I think with about 50K you could build one that would handle and haul azz.
All though a camaro would be much easy and less expensive but you would llok like every one else.

I would pick the cuda. Then do some trick custom stuff to the hemi motor to be different :thumbsup:

Im a Chevy fan but all the first gen Camaros have worn me out. I would do a Cuda or Challenger over a Camaro

I would keep it mopar but I would do something other then the old Hemi thing. How about a fuel injected 440 with a procharger. Now that would be awesome.

I agree with Mark and the majority, I really like the first gen Camaro, but everyone has one, the Cuda is a really nice piece,so I would do the Cuda with a 440/procharger or a 360/turbo!!(everyone is using the Hemi) :thumbsup:

Then when everybody has a hemi ( as they do now) I'll sell them back to ya. Don't they make a PRODUCTION hemi now, oh but they are not everywhere, right. LOL.

Guys everybody does not have a 1st gen camaro LOL.It may seem that because the internet makes the world smaller.Look around your city and see how many first gens are driving around.I do like Cuda's but I have always liked camaros best.

I honestly see first gen Camaros more than any other 60s car bar none. I love them dont get me wrong but if I saw a tricked out Cuda crusiing around my neck of the woods myself and all the other gearheads would definately turn their heads and take notice as to where a 69 Camaro pulls into the cruise or cruises by on the street genarally a quick glance is given.

i like the first camero, but a cuda or challenger (seen vanishing point?) would be a little different. that said, cuda's and challengers (E bodies) are a dime a dozen at mopar shows. just pick up an issue of Mopar Muscle, i swear it seems they are required to have an E body in every other issue, which is ashame because alot of other year and makes get passed up. but like the camero for chevy, cuda and challengers are the most wanted mopar cars to restore, with the B bodies next, those being chargers, road runners and the like. i was hunting a 70 challenger for awhile, but decided people wanted too much for real rusty cars. besides my little A body will handle better, its a convertible, and will be somewhat of a sleeper. E body convertibles go for real big bucks, even in the worst of shape. so most of america might not see it my way, but i didnt buy my car with other peoples opinions in mind. i say build/buy the car that you really want. so what if everyone on your street has a camero, if youve always wanted one buy one. but if you want WOW factor at shows, do something a little different. it all depends on what you want. :thumbsup: just have fun doing it

Cuda market just keeps growing, fewer of them --even with the popularity. Drop a Hemi into one and you have have everyone spell bound. If you want handling, go with the Camaro, easy to do but harder to get your money back.

Next week we are track testing a 71 Cuda with our Level I suspension, to finish dialing in shocks, spring rates and sway bar sizes. The car has a normally aspirated 5.7 Hemi making 430+ HP, a 5-speed, built 8.75 rear w/ 3.90's, our Level I brake kit w/ hydroboost and chassis st5iffening components. It is one of our engineering cars.
As soon as we finish, the Level II suspension and Brakes will go on that car and testing starts over again. Check out Dream Car Garage on Speed this week and you can see the technology we are using to develop the suspensions. They are coverig what we are doing throughout their 2006 season and every week they show more. We are completely re-engineering the Mopar B and E body cars and selling cars and all the pieces we have developed for them for whoever wants to build their own.
So we will be building CHallengers, Cudas, Roadrunners, Chargers, GTX's and Super Bees and all are being set up to handle. Our Level II stuff is basically full road race, detuned for the street. Look at the engineering section of our site and you will get a handle on what we are doing. Attached a re a couple of pics of the engineering car.

I'd only be guessing. We'll have hard numbers after all is done.
Having said that, the Level II should be about as good as it can be for the given vehicle. We are using really cutting edge technology and fully testing it all, including torsion tests of the chassis itself. Shocks and brakes on Level II are very serious pieces, and being fully dialed in (including the brakes for proper balance)). We'll be offering a more economy version shock for the Level II as well.
Level I is basically optimized components for a stock type suspension. Meaning all rates and shock valving are tested and dialed in.
On both setups, we are not going for all out race performance, we are keeping some streetable ride quality as well - no heim joints on our setups purposely. However, the Level II components are fully adjustable and could be dialed in for a track only car if that's your goal.
