the car is a 65 mustang fastback. painted tuxedo black met, mini tub, rolled fenders, rod and custom front end, 6 piston wilwood front brakes, front and back coilovers so it will be pretty low. im thinking 18/19's id like to stay resonable on price, im looking at ccw's, boze any vendors on this site get good deals or want to help out a fellow lateral ger

Wheels are such a personal choice; it's tough to recommend, because what one person likes the next may not. That's why there's thousands of choices, and why it's so hard to pick. :)

Maybe if you post up 3-4 you like with pics, the guys can help you make a choice.

We're obviously biased but I think Rushforth Wheels would look best on your car! Honestly though, Jody is exactly right. Your favorite wheel will look the best on your car. 18s and 19s are exactly what I would run on a 65-66 Mustang too.

Here is a 65 coupe we recently finished up:
Front 17x7 w/ 225/45/17
Rear 17x8 w/ 245/45/17

Its not a 65 but here is a 69 we did a few years back that had Boze Shifter 17x7 front and 18x8 rear (since you mentioned Boze wheels).

Just please do not do a five spoke "Torque-Thrust" look wheel. Dare to be different. If you like a more modern protouring look the Rushforths are a great option. Or you can go a more traditional trans-am/vintage racing look with brands such as billet specialties. I am really happy with my Team III wheels, they give a unique old school look not often seen on PT cars. As said above it is too personal of a choice for us to make the choice for you. Wheels determine the whole feel of the car.

Shameless pics of my LT III wheels

I can build any wheel in our line or the Asanti line to fit your car perfect. The 3 piece wheels might cost more up front but are cheaper in the long run. Cheaper to replace a hoop if you hit a curb and very easy to repaint and change up every few years.

Boze 17x7 and 18x8
The rear always needs to come up on these cars IMO so we stagger the sizes

Hopefully I will! By chance, do you remember the tire size, or overall height, (which is what I'm really interested in)? Maybe it is just me, but it seems like it is much harder to get the right visual appearance between the ground and rockers on the early cars. It seems like most any 17-18" wheel and tire package, looks high off the ground, unless the cars are tucking some serious tire.

The wheels are 17x7 with a 225 45 17 (25" tall) and 18x8 with a 255 40 18 (26" tall) same tire profile and gives a 1" rake while keeping the wheel lip gap consistant, which these body styles need IMO.

If you honestly like the Boze's...fine. By all means go with them as they do make nice wheels. But, if you are choosing them because they are the cheapest and you are sort of on the line about them, I advise you to save a little more, be patient and go with what you really want. Even if it means spending a bit more cash. Trust and believe you'll be happier in the long run. IMHO, I really like the Forgeline's.

Reread my post below again. I said if you like them, fine...as they do make nice wheels. I was just under the impression that you were leaning towards them because you made it seem like you liked them because they were cheaper. In my experience, buying stuff because it's cheaper always costs more money in the long run that's all. Boze makes damn fine wheel. but, everyone has a preference. Out of the choices many of us discussed in this post, I opted to root for Forgeline's. No, I'm not talking down on Boze wheels. To clear it up....they make a damn good wheel. I have even contemplated buying a set before. I was even in the same bout as you. The Boze's were cheaper. But, I knew I probably wouldn't be happy unless I got what I really wanted. Which were HRE's that costs me hell of alot more money. I would have loved to spend less money.

Take a look at these Forgeline's for sale and a killer deal too for a brand new set. http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?p=437220#post437220

Bro, wheels and paint are two of the hardest choices to decide on in my opinion. I say this because color and wheel choice defines the car in such major ways. In many instances it can make or break a car. But nonetheless, you won't go wrong with any of the choices you have to choose from. I like the Boze Mesh wheel. It looks awesome on Mario's Camaro. Take a look at his build thread.....http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=26298&page=76
