Hey everyone my name is Brandon Mock I'm starting a 1971 Sunoco Mark Donohue replica build. If you didn't know I'm Scott Mocks son. He bought a nice rust free 71 Javelin last year. He was going to build it,but has desided to build a 66 Chevelle instead. So he gave me the car to build. I plan to run a weld in clip for corvette front suspenion, splined sway bar up front,DSE rear sway bar & wiper motor, corvette C-6 brakes front and rear. We are going to retrofit a ridetech(1st.gen camaro) four link for the rear suspension W/Ride Tech coil overs. I have a 383 Small block chevy that came from Dad's 66 chevelle. And a 5 speed trans out of a S-10 for a trans,8.8 ford W/3:73posi for rear axle. I have alot of left over parts from dad and Kevin. Seats will be Corbeau's FX1's,Alum. Radiator from the 66 chevelle,Alum drive shaft from a Ford police car.We just got the car in the shop today & Built a roll around dolly for it. We will start getting it apart tomorrow. Dad had Carter Hickman do really cool rendering for the build last year. This is going to be a real budget build. I am only 16 and work part time. Dad and Kevin have came up with a ton of really great parts to help me out. I have all the tools that I will need to complete the build. I'm sure dad & Kevin will help out with alot of the fab. Brian Kellison of Kellison's Kustom's will be painting it.The big expence for me will be wheels and tires.I really like the formula 43 (Rad 10)wheels.

Brandon's a hard working young man.He works part time during school/full time in the summer at the same place (Custom Moblie equipment) as His Brother's Kevin & Bryce. He's also a starter on the high school & legion Baseball team's.So finding time to build this project is going to be tuff.He give's Kevin fits on the gokart track,so he might be a pretty good wheel man when the car is finished.Brandon's been wanting he own car to atend the GoodGuy's with.I had the javelin, and aton of part's.So now he can stop buggin me and GET TO WORK.It should be fun working togather on this project. He want's a racecar so it will be perfect for him.I am wanting something more compfortable. This is going to be the budget of all budget build's.Let's see how far we can stretch a dollar. The 383 small block was in the 66 chevelle I just picked up.It's was not what I wanted,so it will work go for this project.I welded an alum. radiator for a friend and that's were the S-10 5 speed came from. We'll be watching the for-sale section here and over on protouring for good deals,on C-6 componets,18" wheels,Seat harness's,Wiring harness, autometer gauges,& odds & ends.I will be helping, and guiding.

Cool build,

When I used to go to CA all the time, I know a guy there who had many in a private Ford yard, looked into buying one, but I felt he was wanting to much for one, and since it was out by the High Desert everything was dryer than toast!!

post lots of pics,

I think we are going to make are own upper and lower control arms, and center section. that just bolts in the orignal holes. so we don't have to cut off the whole front end to save sometime and money. Im really trying to save some money on this build so whatever we can build and not have to buy is better

Great looking project Brandon! I think its awesome that you have such enthusiasm and passion for cars. I'm sure the end result will reflect all of the hard work you put into it. By the rendering it looks like your going with a polished outer rim and clear anodized center.
Let me know when you have the specs for your RAD10 wheels, I will gladly assit you any way that I can. Good luck!

Carter nailed the rendering! Your are obviously surrounded by some good people with talent! No doubt you will be able to pull it off. Going to be a cool different (and I mean that in a good way) build! Good luck!

Hey everyone long time no see. I haven't been on here in what seems like a decade I just finished up my season with baseball and school and I haven't really had much time to do anything so I kind of just set the project to the side for the time being and just worried about baseball and school and plus I there hasn't been much room in the shop between my dads 66 chevelle and all the little things but I think as soon as he gets sometime to work on his car and get it all finished up. We will be able to get back swinging on my project. I will try to keep you guys updated on what I get done if I can get anything done

I will try to keep you guys updated on what I get done if I can get anything doneBrandon,is the lead catcher on his Varsity Baseball team,Plus he pitch's every fifth game. His fastball is consistently around 87 MPH( sometime's 90MPH),and his curveball makes the right handed batters jump out of the box.In 42 inning pitched he had 34 strikeout's and only 4 base on ball's.As soon as summer baseball whines down we will get back on the javelin. We have just about all the parts except a 5speed trans & bell housing, gauges,And a set of 18" wheels. And Paint. So It will for sure be rollin next spring for his High school senior year.
