Hey guys!

I have been a member here for quite some time, reading and enjoying all of the builds! I am in the process of looking for my next project, a 69 Camaro. It's not like there were enough on here already!

Meanwhile I thought I would show my current project, a 71 C10 I have had since high school. This was my first car(truck) and my dad and I restored it way back then(98-99). Blue has gone through a few changes in the last 12 years or so but about a year ago I thought it was due for a little more...

I tore apart my perfectly running driver and made a list of whats to come and here was the plan:

Porterbuilt Dropmemebers Front and Rear
Rebuilt 6.0 with custom cam/Ls2 intake
4L60E with yank ss3600
new air management
Kore3 14"/13" C5 brakes and Wilwood Master
20/22 Rushforth Rated-X's
New interior
Repainted Firewall
And more...

So here is what I started with and some work along the way. Also a nice little rendering by Jason Rushforth.

Jason

Here is where I am at now. Body is back on the frame, Motor/Tranny are in, and brakes are on/plumbed. Fuel system is also in/plumbed. I ordered the wheels and things should be progressing pretty quick now!

Still lots to go, but making some progress. Have more pics but need to get them off my camera...

That's it. I'm going to find me a C-10 before this year is over. Nice truck. I've spoken with Jason Rushforth a few times about some wheels and he's a great designer. Good job.

Havent been updating this thread much lately... progress has been slow. My wife and I are expecting our first, a little girl, in about a month. I imagine progress may get slower after that, however, I am trying to get as much done as I can. The sooner I get done with the truck the sooner I can start on my newly aquired 69 camaro!

I did get the engine accessories done, got the air ride system all plumbed and hooked up, front grill back on, and the wiring harness for the engine complete just not installed yet. Got the radiator and fans in as well. Just trying to cross things off the list!

Also, The dash was cut long ago for a double din stereo, so I started to patch that back up as well. Got some parts coming this weekend and hope to soon get it back to drivable so I can get it to the shop to repaint the dash. Ordered a new 2-piece driveshaft, PS hoses, Exhaust bends, and steering shaft. Also got a set of Slosh Tubz as well. Nice to say there arent too many parts left to order! :G-Dub:

Here are a couple pics to date and some simply cause I was playing with my camera!

Super nice, you better get it done before baby comes. I havent got mine anywhere in 18 months.my car was 95% before baby , now its 95.1%. Congrats and enjoy.its the hardest job you will love.

Well 66Fury was right, it has been tough to get much done with the new baby, but it is very hard to pull myself away from her to work in the garage!

I have been completing lots of little things over the last few months. Wiring is done except for new Dakota digital VHX gauges, new tonneau cover installed, seat re-done, brakes are bled and have no more leaks, etc.

Anyways, the good news is it drove out of the garage for the first time in 2 years. Laid it out and took a picture. Cool.

Bad news, radiator has a nice little pinhole, so I couldn't drive it down the street. Oh well, new radiator will be here Friday.

Got the bug to get it done, as I think it will be up for sale. I really want to get moving on the 69 Camaro, and I just don't have the room for both.

I have had the Dakota digital gauges for a while but didn't have a bezel. Well it showed up and I got them put together. These things are nice! Should have them hooked up by the end of the weekend.

What kind of tonneau is that?

It is made by Craftec. I looked for years to find a flush mount one, that was good looking. It is a great product and the price was good as well.

Small Update. Weather hasn't been great around here, but I did get the truck out for a drive the other day. Still finishing up some small details (mostly interior) and fixing a couple small leaks. Did take some pictures while I had it out and on the ground. I still have to install wheeltubs, repaint the dash, and decide how I want to finish the inside of the bed(if at all).

I have been working on my Camaro and will start a thread on that one soon as well. In the meantime, my wife, daughter and I are headed to Scottsdale tomorrow for some sun and Barrett-Jackson!

Truck looks awesome!

Question - what brackets did you use for the Vette brakes on the rear? I'm wanting to go with C5/6 brakes on my '72 'Burb, but when I talked with Tobin at Kore3 he doesn't have parking brake solution for the truck rears. Just curious- Thanks.

I used Kore3. Currently the truck does not have an ebrake.

Thanks guys! It drives awesome. Still need to get a good alignment, but the truck is a different beast. Firm yet very smooth, and with R&P steering, the truck just goes where you want it to. Definitely not like driving the originals.
