If you don't know what this is it looks kinda like a 62-65 Chevy Nova.

Original straight six engine, three on the tree plus automatic overdrive. Has air conditioning. Very straight. Has a 20 year old light blue paint job. Engine turns over by hand. Brand new tires installed almost three years ago. Only known rust is in the bottom of the back tailgate, but it looks like maybe some in the bottom of the doors. Very straight. Lots of spare parts such as starters, fuel pumps, alternators etc. I have a second steering wheel. I also have all the hubcaps and a couple extras too. The backseat is original, the front was reupholstered a while back. Lots of associated Rambler paper materials.

Hasn't been started in a very long time. Sat under a tree for a couple years before I brought it to Sacramento so there is some sap in the DS front fender.

I'm moving and don't have room for it at the new place. I was going to swap in a late model Cadillac V6 and do a Chassisworks front crossmember as the stock one unbolts but this car is low on my project list. Plus, my sister and I debate on who actually owns it as it belonged to my mom. So we decided to sell it and split the cash.

I haven't had time to take more pictures but will try to take some over the weekend.

Have the title too. Located in the Sacramento area.

Price is $1200. Listed locally for $1500. (Price dropped 10/29/12)
NEW DROP $900 11/8/12
FINAL DROP! $500 11/15/12 MUST GO NOW!

We ended up with this thing because my dad got one from his grandparents and drove it from Iillinois to GA and then to CA. He sold it in the 70s but found this one and had to have it. So, based on that, I suppose you could get it running and drive it all the way to the other half of the country. :D Maybe hit up some Auto-X along the way.

Or, you mail me a really big check and I take a little bit, then take the car and all the parts to one of the super sweet California builders for an overhaul. I can think of four that are within two hours of me that would be great. C'mon, you know you wanna!

No one wants to build a PT Rambler? What happened to the age of the sleeper?

Bump.

Bret is too busy to drive 5.08 miles and take it home.

I'm going to do a rendering tonight and make this thing irresistable.

By the way, this vehicle is still available.

A little history:
My dad grew up outside Chicago. The reason we have this car is his grandparents had a blue 220 trim wagon they bought new in 65. He bought their wagon and moved to Atlanta in the mid 70s with everything he owned in that car. That included his 69 Honda CB450 with the handlebars removed. He stayed a couple years in Atlanta then drove Route 66 out to California, again with everything he owned. As I recally, shortly after arriving in Berkeley he sold the car and ended up with a 70 Chevy truck.

In 79 he purchased his first equipment rental yard, then opened a couple more before settling with just the one big one in Concord. He came across this car in Walnut Creek in the late 80s and bought it right away. We used it for small deliveries and errands. At one point it bent a pushrod and sat for a while before he was able to source one and get it on the road again. (This is before ebay.) That's the story behind the lettering and how I ended up with such an unusual car.

My personal plans for the car have always been a bit conflicted.

Version One: Cheap and Easy, Low and Slow
Front- Mustang II front crossmember with airbags because as crappy as M-II is it's still better than 65 Rambler and the cars are close in width. Leave the straight six and three on the tree. Recharge the factory AC.

Rear- KP Components triangulated 4-link with poly bushings and some brackets welded to the stock housing.

Scrub the paint with a brillo pad, leave the wheels and put on stock hubcaps.

Version Two: Power Tour
Front- Chassisworks 4x2 a-arm crossmember, power rack, double adjustable coilovers. Late model V6 out of a Cadillac CTS or Camaro RS with auto trans and paddle shifters.
Rear- Chassisworks Canted billet 4-bar rear frame with a DA shocks and a FAB9, no backbrace.

Rushforth Wheels Saltshakers all the way around. 18s in front and 19s in back. Polished lip, gunmetal centers with polished accents.

I'm trying to list this house as available to rent at the end of next week. Kinda hard to do with this thing in the driveway. First $500 takes it. I'm not f'in around here. Bring a trailer with a winch; the brakes seem to be dragging.
