This was the first car that really got me hooked. One of my best buddies sisters was dating a guy with a black 79 and a built 305. We rode up to a Whitetail classic and it sounded great and I thought it was fast. It was all downhill for me after that. My first car was a 1981 Monte with a 327. I raced it and wrecked it.
Great looking car man.

Looks great!! I had a 78 in college. Man, I loved my 78. I tore that car up doing all sorts of things to it in which I thought was fixing it up. LOL!!

Good to hear from you Eric... bummer about the Modern Auto cruise!.. The heat/drought kind of zapped my interest in taking the car out much this summer... Hope all is well out there..

I backed the car out to go to Modern Auto cruise & it started to sprinkle. That is always a good time.

I think I'm ready to sell the car. It does not get used much and I've lost the passion for it really. PM me if you want to talk.

After 12 years, too much time and money, and whole bunch of enjoyment, she is off never to seen again to the Netherlands.

Okay, what's next on the radar? You just can't get that money and not do nothing with it. :poke: :poke:

I bought a Honda.. that's right. It's a daily driver for me.

Besides the FWD, I've been enjoying the 35mpg. I don't know if I'll get another "project" car. I've got 2 young kids.. I like spending time with my family vs putting time and money into project car. At this point in my life I'm just over it. My passion is doing design. That and my family are the priorities... a project car is out of the picture... at least until the kids grow up and get real jobs. lol

That's the proper way to do it, Tony. Though, don't be against an affordable project car and the family possibilities it can hold for you guys too.

And it looks like I just sold my truck too. So I'm down to only my Honda now. lol
That is the point Trey, for this hobby to be inclusive for the family, not exclusive so I need to find the balance with the next vehicle.

Funny how kids can change "some" people's perspective. Kids will only be young and wanna hang out for so long.
I sold a 59 Apache and bought my 57 ford just so I can include the entire family. My wake up call was going to Bonneville for a week with the family. Between racing and working on the car I maybe spent 8 hours doing family stuff. The boys had a blast...just not with me!:snapout:
Find a rig that everyone can enjoy and be a part of, even if it's a Honda.

Well, I put my truck on CL for bites and I got one and my asking price. It's a great truck, but the gas milage was a buzz kill. My 6yo got kind of sad, then I did! Then I thought about that huge dent, the rust forming on the other side, the cost to fix all of it, and the gas mileage again, and I wasn't sad anymore.

So now its just the Honda hatchback for me, which my son loves for some reason. He calls it zippy and likes the rides to school in it.
This time I want to buy something a little more 'finished'. Something I can get in and enjoy. Taking time away from my family working on something isn't a priority.
So if anyone has a nice car or truck they are thinking about selling, let me know. I'm thinking about a Wrangler... or?? Anything but a project!

That`s very nice .You don`t see many of this on the road much less cleaned up like this one. It is mostly the Monte SS`s and the like. Now take it out and have fun with it.
