View Full Version : Another Speedtech Nova

Speedtech has just finished a 69 Nova for a local customer who actually came in to purchase a set of headers for this Nova, when it showed up it had a SBC already had the TKO 500 in it. well the header order got cancelled and we reordered a set for an LS. and that was it. the car was completly stripped and ended up needing all new body panels, except the roof and trunk lid. floor was good too. got the mini tub treatment full Track Time suspension Package.
The idea of this car was to make it SUPER drivable long distance and comfortable. So we put a stock 430 HP ls3 17" Forgelines with Michelin PS2 335 35 17 and 265 40 17 to soak up some of the road. super quite dynomax mufflers, comfortable Cobra seats.
This car is a dream to drive.

Love this Nova! Do you have a vendor for the gauges? And do you have a pic from the side? Just curious how a 26" tire fills the wheelhouse on this one. I'm limited to a 17" wheel and it looks a little short on my Nova.

not alot of trick stuff just a straight forward build, this is a "Budget" build something most can afford and is the direction we are moving towards on our builds.

That is the way Novas are, the floor is not tucked up as far as a Camaro. remember how high the Novas sit. The floor is flatter and they have an extra 3/8 spacer at the firewall mount. The headers are only 3/4" below the subframe. On the Camaro with 1/2 height body mounts the headers are 3/8" from the floor. so something has to give.

Great looking car. Nice stance and I like the 17's. The tires make the car look more aggressive.

So we took the car and my Nova on a local Nova cruse last weekend, and then to a car show on sunday. Seems my nova is now second rate ???? how did that happen? anyway i gues if your not building them better as you go then that means your building them worse. so all is goos, the customer LOVES it this combo is probably the most drivable set up to date, the 430 hp LS crate motor is awesome, hit the key first time drove away. passed our smog rest with flying colorsi would recomend this motor to anyone building a tame driver.

The giveaway car we did for Goodguys had the same combo. It ran 75-85 mph all day. Got 23mpg. And had enough get up and good to keep me happy for a daily driver kinda setup. The LS3 is super solid combo. We put over a 1000 mile son it last summer and had a great time doing it.

Hi Blake, I love this car and resurrexion even better.

What does it take to delete the vent window?
Do you have to make new glas? Is it a 1974 Nova window?
Can you use the existing regulators?

Thanks
Bram

we have just replaced the doors with 73-4 doors, then you have to update the door panel to the same.
