i'm looking for a 315 sized racing tire for a 17"x 10.5 wheel I would like the tire to be a 50 series. I've checked michelin and goodyear & nitto sites and they don't have sp2/sport cup type road racing dot approved tires in the size i need anyone help please?

Check out the Kumho V700 or V710 they may have something in that size.

Look into Yoko or Pirelli as well. They both build an excellent dual purpose tire (although the street part of the dual purpose is open to interpretation).

looks like that size will be hard to find I use Toyo tires and I was thinking that the The Toyo Proxes RA-1 would have you need but they do not.

Good luck

Wow, any reason why you want a 50 profile tire in that size?
As a 275/50R17 is 28" tall  I guess you'll be putting these on a truck/SUV, but then again I don't understand the "racing tire" part.

I'm not out to stir things up, I'm just curious to what they are going on.

17" halibrand knock-off pin drive wheel...vintage looking big wall tire for a vintage corvette grand sport.

similar to this on this a 15" wheel...I would like a slightly shorter wall and a 17" wheel to fit 13" brakes

but now i'm thinking going 18" with a more modern race tire.

Now that sounds like fun! :)

I see what you want with the tall sidewall, but I think it'll be too tall with a 50 profile in those widths, 35/40 is probably better without stuffing the wheelhouses completely. On the other hand, then the vintage look tall sidewall will be gone...

Sounds like fun plans allright, vintage racers are really cool, especially if they are being used!
