Hay guys, I just found this site and am glad I did! I have a 2002 3/4 ton suburban with a 6.0l. It has around 145,000 on it and I hear a tick on cold starts. My plan is to get a 6.0 take out, do a mild rebuild, put it in the burb, take the burbs 6.0 re build it and put it in my under construction 57' Chevy pickup, I also plan on puttig a gen 2 Camaro front clip, my thinking is this will make the swap easier, give me disks and a-arms and sway bar ect. I am just starting to research the 6.0, looking I see if this is a good motor, what's the take out prices, rebuild kit price ect

Thanks and great forum!

You can likely find pull out motors for less than what a rebuild would cost. Drop a complete motor in each truck. I've heard pull out long blocks for as low as $80. I have purchased multiple complete motors with harness/computer and trans with low miles for $1,500 to $2,500.

I have a 55 big window I plan to do as well, except changing the cross member to hang all new (new to me!) suspension from. I don't want to mess with cutting up the whole clip and making new attachments for bumpers and sheetmetal.

Check your local LKQ for engines and pullouts. I put (lots) of LS motors in older cars! 5.3, 6.0's etc. Easy to make power with and tons of aftermarket parts to make the swap pretty straight forward.
