I cant believe I completely forgot to post about this on Lateral-G. Here is the recent update on another one of my one of a kind creations. I will post the most recent pics at the top. You can read all about the process from beginning to end on my site here. http://www.adfabdesign.com/Illusion/Exhaust/Exhaust.html
As you can see I split my rear bumper into 2 rear bumpers. I also moved the license plate up and "Frenched" it into the back of the car.

Most recent pics as of 2/28/06

Video of the complete exhaust out the back! (sound only) (http://www.adfabdesign.com/Illusion/Exhaust/Camaro%20sound%20clip.wmv)

Very slick! My only suggestion is to soften up the area around the license plate by maybe angling the joining surfaces and making either the opening bigger or the plate mounting surface a bit smaller. I'd maybe give the outside edges a rounder edge too. It would make it look a lot cleaner in my opinion but I'm sure it would be a pretty big job. Love the exhaust. Always wanted to run center exhaust on one of my cars.

Thanks for the compliments!! Kris as you know I have been planning this for about 3 years. One major inspiration toward this was a render you did for Rick Dorion. He saw my post and said he wanted to do something similar. Once I saw your pic I KNEW that I wanted my exhaust thru the bottom of my car. I actually printed that pic out and had it next to me in the garage while I modified everything. Now the split bumpers and the frenched plates were my extra ideas since I had no where else to put the plate. Thanks again for the compliments. Really means a lot. :D

 Glad I had a part in it then! Looks really good man. The split bumper is a really cool idea too.

From viper look to lambo look. Your good at marketing

After I started doing this modification I realized that the Viper exhaust was just under the car. It didnt go thru the car at all. So one day someone posted a pic of a Murcielago and I said "Hey that exactly how my exhaust looks!!". Your right it does sound more luxurious saying lambo exhaust. :D
I bought a new temporary sander so hopefully I can get this all finished up tonight. No matter what I HAVE to primer this rear end tonight. :willy:

its not worth rushing to get it into epoxy primer, i would take my time and do the bodywork once and be done, goodluck

I have to pull the Camaro out into the rain for the next 3 days and I dont want to leave it with exposed metal and filler. I have to work on 2 other cars this weekend and unfortunately my Camaro or the mustang has to come out of the garage. (unless it quits raining) The mustang has too much bare metal since heather just replaced the fender, rear quarter and floors and we havent re-primered it yet.
Thanks for the good luck. I actually need to e-mail you about some tools.

Clean and well executed. Nice work. I wish more cars were styled as well, either as a whole or in part.

Thanks for the compliments.
I actually met my deadline last night and got the entire rear all smoothed out and epoxy primered by 10:30. It turned out great!!! The rear is about 90% complete. I still have a few things to smooth out but now if I pull it out in the rain today and tomorrow, nothing will get damaged from rain. I even primered the split bumpers and those turned out real nice! :D

Pimpin!

Looks wayyy better than I expected. I knew the tailpipes would look good but I was worried about the license plate. Chop up that bumper and let's have a looksee.

Thanks Steve. Any compliment from you is greatly appreciated. Now that everything is smoothed out and under 3 coats of epoxy primer, I will bolt up the bumpers and try to get some pics this weekend. The pics above were just a quick blast of primer out of a spray can. 1 coat.
I actually heard a rumor the sun might come out. :wow:

Adam, Very nice!! I like to see something different.Other than the exhaust at first glance it still looks stock, the bumpers look right at home on the rear, and I really the the exhaust. It is always tricky to figure out where to exit the tailpipes, and you have nailed it. What are you using for mufflers? 3"? You have just gave me some ideas for mine,I like it!!

Adam

I think your ideas are right in line with every aspect that makes this hobby wonderful. Everytime you post something here (or on PT) about your car, I click it because I want to know what you're up to. The rear looks great, as does the rest of the car. I've really enjoyed watching you just dive into every idea on this car and making it happen yourself. I can't wait to see the thing painted. It's an awesome car.

Thanks for all the killer feedback!!! Reading all of this was a great monday morning treat. It was a perfect weekend. Sun out and 55degrees!! Had to take some more pics for everyone. I finally got to drive the Camaro for the first time with the new exhaust set up. Sounds perfect and actually has a very unique tone since the tail pipes are soooo close together out the center!!! Drove around the beach with Heather for about an hour and a half just cruising. Had to fry the tires a few times of course. :D
EDIT: I still have to bolt up my aluminum QA1 shocks.

Thanks for the compliments. The exhaust did real well at the recent road track event I attended. I am happy how it sounds and it doesnt get hot at all back there under the fuel cell. I posted some pics from the event over here. http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=4347
