Just watched it. Cool movie and car chase scenes. Even for a Mopar. :unibrow:

First or remake? I saw the orig when it first came out at a drive in. I have it on DVD.. Did you know that in the orig movie, they crashed a Camaro into the tractors and not a Mopar..

I also saw the remake but cannot remember it (senile)

The orig Gone in 60 seconds is cool too

Didn't know there was more than one version... I saw the one from the 1971 with Barry Newman.

The remake had Vigo Mortesen as the driver. I thought it was pretty good since it was made for TV. The original was better.

Saw the original.

Barry Newman also died on 'The O.C.'

Donīt forget Barry Newman driving a 1972 Ford Torino GTS in "Fear Is the Key", from 1973.
Great car chase!

Seen the original back in the day with Barry Newman and Clevon Little as the DJ. One of the coolest movies ever! I believe Kris Kristophossen( I hope I spelled that right),Rita Coolidge,Delaney&Bonnieand others performed the music in the dessert scene. Kowalski(stage name)drove a Hemi Challenger across country at high speed and eluded all law enforcement.

Definitely a cool movie, bought it on DVD couple years ago. There is a Muscle Car Museum in the Smokey Mountains/ Pigeon Forge,TN area that had one of the Challengers from the movie when I was there couple years ago.

Have seen both movies and the original was better of course. In the remake, Jason Priestley played the DJ...Clevon's rolling in his grave. The remake has a scene where a black 68 Charger (looks like the bad guy's from Bullitt) is chasing Viggo in the Challenger and they roll that thing several times. I still can't sleep at night sometimes.:D

I thought it was a supercharged 440.... At least that is what I remember them stating in the advertisements for the movie.

Either way a great car movie, and part of my DVD collection.

Floyd Garrett Muscle Museum, been there a few times. Well worth it if you have never been. And yes I saw the movie when it first came out.
