Hey all, I'm trying to raise the front end of my car 3-4 in. I have afco coilovers in my 69 camaro. Currently I have 8" 350lb coilover springs (way too slammed, tires touching top of wheel well.
What would be the best way (ie longer spring/higher spring rate) to raise the car. The shocks are optimal with 8" springs. How much higher of a spring rate do I need to go with? Car is mostly street some 1/4 mile.

spring rate way to light, at least 200lbs more.

Not a guru, but you don't need one. Here's what I'd do:
* Set up a soild bar (adjustable if possible) in place of the shock that puts your car at desired ride height. From your description, I'd start at 12".
* Go here:
http://www.speedwaymotors.com/afco-non-adjustable-coilover-shocks-w-o-spring,43245.html
* Not sure if you need/have an adjustable shock or want a Drag specific shock, but sounds like this would be one choice - 1340sr5t. Its made to sit at 11-12" and has 4" of stroke.
* Repeat the process if another height or shock choice is desired. Be sure to check wheel clearance in compression/rebound based on the shock you choose.
* Make sure to match spring length/pressure to the shock you choose.
PM me if you have any questions :thumbsup:

You're going to need the 5 inch stroke shocks with an installed height of at least 14 inches to use a spring rate that low.
