In laying out the template DSE provides, it seems that I will be using 4 of the 6 possible mounting bolts (top, bottom, two on left side) for the base since the outside (to the quarter) two are over the dropoff. This is in the right rear trunk area. Is this sufficient or am I missing something?

I can't remember which ones exactly I used, but I definitely wasn't able to use all of them either.

Rick, check out JT's build pics. It doesn't appear his is mounted that far outboard. I could be wrong though.......

Thanks, Bill. You're right. However, that puts his inboard mounting screws within the rear frame rail area, creating the same situation I'm posing but on the opposite side. Since the template is somewhat universal I think all is well. I'm just anal and also like symmetry! I want to know it's securely mounted.

I don't blame you one bit, Rick. The last thing you'd want is a battery flopping around in the trunk.

Can you elaborate? Thanks!

My is positioned just like JT's. I needed to do this to mount my remote starter solenoid behind the battery. Needless to say the first hole I drilled was right in the center of the dead space in the frame rail. I have the battery mount out right and I could send you a pic so you don't drill any extra holes. Just PM me email address if interested.

It'd be great if you could post some photos of that. I'm wondering how that's gonna work as well.

I ended up using four of the six, and believe me, it isn't going anywhere.

Same here. Sorry for the earlier post, but I installed mine over a year ago. Like BAD6SPD said, "it isn't going anywhere".
