Has anyone tried to build your own headers? I have started with headers that "fit" and ended up re-fitting them, but never started with a pile of bends, and actually constructed them. I have ordered bends and other parts from Stainless Headers before, and love their products. My new build will be a trial run for alot of new to me builds. I have a purge system set up in orer to fill all the tubes with Argon while they are being welded, this makes the inside nice as well. I am wanting to build a 4 into 2 into 1 system to help with ground clearance, and tourque production.
I think this will be fun, and alot of work.
What do you think...

I just built my first set for my buddies car. The actual fabrication of the headers was easier than I expected, but the welding on the SS kicked my butt more than I figured it would. The welds turned out decent, but they weren't quite as picture perfect as I had hoped.

Here is one pic when they were first tacked up.

Yep build them all the time it is alot of work, but the end result is worth it! If your going to do them often I suggest getting a set of blocks from these guys - http://www.icengineworks.com/icew1750.htm Save a ton of time!
