the people who had it built were in the vid. motor is sick watch how fast the hp and torque jump.i seriously dont think it will be used as a street motor .it could but dam hit a bump jar your leg that could get really ugly in a hurry.

I'm willing to bet it is in the six figure price range. :faint: :faint: That thing on the dyno is scary. Did y'all see the cabinet door fly open in the background from all the air that thing was sucking in?

It gets the "just right" mark from me. It's injected, I'm sure with a couple key strokes you could tame it. I hope the car it's going in has some real suspension, a real cage, and doesn't have some 400/15/22s on it. lol

DAM!!!!!!1:wow: I am going to be happy when I get my charger running, and it can make 600 hp to the wheels.

by the way the pluming and placement of the innercooler .i bet it's going in a full chassie drag car. would be rather hard to put in much else

I have a hunch this motor is being built for drag week (based on the needing for cooling). I know of a motor in a Duster that snapped the dynometer's driveshaft at about 1800hp and climbing that is supposed to be coming out this year. Once that 6 second barrier was broken, people started paying attention, lol.

He is still helping me remotely fine tune the engine he built for me so I will ask him and post unless he cannot tell me. The RPM response has something to do with that alien manifold. I watched a video of a stock 572 (my old engine) and with that manifold it ripped to 6500. I was just going to change my manifold but I had him build my engine instead.

that would be larry larson he dont have to win drag week he allready has the last 4 yrs that i know of thats the car everybody is guning for

Why did Tom say it was built for Sam and Jacob? His normal video style. Guess they are related to Larry or gave him a wonderful gift:rofl:

As usual, he claims it makes 2500 hp but the video shows 1950.

I wonder what it will run down the .25 and how reliable it will prove to be using water cooling.

I saw in one of Nelson's older vids he accidentally left the correction factor visible. You don't see him making that mistake anymore. :unibrow: :P

Inside sources have informed me of his inflated numbers. Doesn't really make sense to do this, no one has been able to control over 1500 on the street anyway. Jeff Schwartz' Ultima made over 820 at the tires and he can barely keep tires on the car.

Nelson packages some nice parts in his engine bay and he knows exactly what he's doing. Pretty much a known quantity around these parts.....

I'm not bashing him, I've known Tom for many years, he is good. I've also been there for a few dyno sessions. All I'm saying is better #'s increase sales. I have no idea if Tom's dyno is happy. I know Brad's and Bob's aren't LOL

I prefer engine builders that can't use a dyno to measure performance. :unibrow: :D

Of course I did. I'm talking about his top of the line stuff. Yeah that sh*t will break dynos..transmissions, rearends, chassies LOL Edit...I am sure that Jason dynos every eng he builds to make sure things are A ok and to get a baseline

Wow, so many of you know him and think he might be a number chaser to sell engines. You spend time to write about this. I think the results over time are a major statement. I hope all who say they spend time with him and his results are inflated discuss this with him in person and not just blast it in the forum.

I totally disagree.

Tom also baselines every engine from the bottom of the line to the top and I think he has built many engines that "sh*t will break dynos" Many in many years of the records are right. So? If his engines do not make the mark prove it and if others beat his records be factual....

Neither, life is to short for panty wads....great when I was 20ish.... having a great days now. But I do not support this type of one sided statements I have seen many things. Including many of his dynos which are point in time. THe members here who say they know him and watched many dynos know this so .... either they should tell Tom his is blowing smoke up his buyers as* or they explain the proven numbers by others he produces which TOm was not measuring.

Urban legends have been proven to start this way.... some other person sawy something that thay state it true but yet is is always a friend of a friend who cannot prove the origianl event.... TOm has never takend down a video and it this is one taken down have the guy let me know which one it is and I can help get it reposted...... lets live in the facts also is you have seen his video set up vs the gauges it is all there all the time..nothing to hide

I don't see where anyone in this thread is blasting Tom or saying he is blowing smoke up anyones ass.. (people have a right to voice their opinion from what they see in a video though) And I also can't find where anyone in here stated that Tom ever did or does inflate his #'s.. YES I said "Inflated #'s sell engs" and that was just a statement in general because it's true.

And yea, I have known Tom since before he bought Bill Hyatts machines and opened his own place. He must be doing something rt because he is moving into a 30,000 sq ft building! One thing I do bash Tom about is answering his damn phone more, and I've done this to his face.. It's all good Dude!!

HEY RON, DO YOU REMEMBER BILL HYATT (that's a name from the past)May he RIP... and how about COLE BOATS??

Didn't know Bill, but I liked Jim Cole. Had a good friend that worked there and that's how I got to know him. Man that dude cracked me up! He thought everyone's boat was a POS except his. Toward the end there was rumor - I have no idea if it was true - that his two newest model molds were warped. A few owners were screaming! For sure they were about 1000lbs heavier than advertised and SLOW! Last I saw him was at the LA boat show after he got shot. He had a sling on his arm and was walking real slow.

I wish he was still in business. The boat industry needs characters like him...

Now that's funny Ron. Sounds like how alot guys think about their cars compared to others.  Not speaking of anyone on this forum. I'm talking about how when we go to car shows and some random guy walks up to you while you are looking at a car and he begans to critique and pick the car apart about how he would have not did this and would have did that. I know everyone has met that guy before...right?

Didn't he get shot in his office over a lady he was seeing? I do remember people saying. If you had a COLE FLAT you were the baddest boat on the lake

We'll never know the shooting story for sure. The version I was told is that's the cover story...

Cole flatties were great! And Jim and company held many records at one time. Boaters are the best, next to car junkies of course. They'll help anyone out, any time! Marina stories are f'n hilarious...

yeah harley tweaked the hp numbers to show 50 hp when they only make 43, lolIt's a successful game the large percentage of their customer base wants to play. Same game applies to the auto industry. Tell the customer what they want to hear and due to their lack of technical knowledge and real world experience, what they don't know won't hurt them.
