I guess I have joined the ranks of the certifiably insane. The folks at AMD are rapidly becoming my new best friends.

Brian,
Actually a very solid car. No damage or rust forward of the back window. It had a rear window track failure which put water in the trunk -- damaged the trunk floor, window-to-trunk fill panel and sub-structure, rear trunk drop-down panels, one wheelhouse, and the rear quarters behind the rear wheels. The roof panel was okay, but had a minor dent/stretch where somebody sat on it. That was going to be hard to fix, so I decided (in a recurring moment of insanity) to replace that too. The car wasn't bent up, so the AMD panels (rear quarters, roof skin) fit almost perfectly on the first trial fit. I can't say enough good about the quality of service and product at AMD. The Super Chevy articles on the 67 Chevelle convinced me that this metal work wouldn't be totally impossible for an old fiberglass guy.
Thanks
Pappy

I haven't bought any Chevelle parts (yet anyway ;)) but I was pleasantly surprised with the heavy gauge and fit of the AMD Camaro parts. AMD has been better than other Golden Legion and Dynacorn parts I've bought previously. I hear you on the snowball affect. Once I saw the nice new parts I wanted to replace everything until I started thinking about the amount of work It would take.

hey, just an fyi on the amd part #'s, if there is an x in front of the part # it was not manufactured by them.for instance Camaro doors are not there doors.just something I found out the hard way.:shakehead:

This thing has been on the back burner for a while, but procrastination can have its benefits. While I was stagnant, AMD finished their tooling for the 66 Chevelle front fenders, so I ordered and received a pair. They are very well done, and the lines are all sharp and crisp. I was very impressed with their rear quarters, and these are a great match.
