View Full Version : Wheels don't fit brakes!

I spent a ton of hours today assembling my subframe and brakes only to find out that the Fesler (Baer) hub is too big to go into the hole on the inside of my Fesler wheel.

What do I do now?

Do I need to have my wheel taken apart and have the hole machined bigger?

Hey John -- I had something similar happen to me with Asanti wheels (same as the fesler stuff) I had to have the wheel taken apart and machined and also had to modify the centre cap, I feel your pain it sucks! Maybe you'll have better luck than me and not had take apart the wheel.

You would think they would make them bigger to fit the Baer brake kit they put their name on.

Uh, yeah...same name on both! Dial 1-800-Chris-fix-this!

Forgot to mention I have wilwood brakes not Baer -- good luck!

Was looking at your pics and the calipers appeared to be high on the rotor...it may just be the angle. I assume the brake pads are at the top edge of the rotor when installed.

Looks like Asanti cut it wrong. Doh! Good news is the guys at Fesler are awesome and taking care of my fitment issue for me ASAP. :D

Before I took the wheels apart, I would just take the hubs to your local machine shop and have them turned down.

Payton, where did you see pictures to make that observation about the calipers riding high? I do not see any in the thread?:willy:

John I fee your pain, my new subframe lead to needing new brakes which lead to new rims are a rebuild cost of my "other" new rims equal to the cost of buying the current Budnik! Only the subframe was budgeted!

I think the pictures are in Johns build thread?

Yes on the thread. And calipers are on correctly. Must be the angle of the picture.
