Okay - you guys know I've jumped into a new project - 61 Metropolitan (or MET as they are called).

Pricing out the front suspension rebuild - it is NUTS - and when you are done you still have 60 year old technology (king pins, trunions...etc).

So - looking at a Mustang II - we have track width problems. The MET needs to run around 46".

I pulled it all out this weekend - and believe me - it is a mess.

So, - I need to hear some "cough...cough" budget ideas for building something that will be safe, reliable, easy to service - and most of all get me away from the 4 on 4" hub that makes brake choices nearly imposible!

You can see this one below, but it is a very radical build.

Miata? Buy one used and swap the front and rear suspension in along with the drivetrain, guages, interior bits?

There's a very detailed/great swap here and this truck handles and hauls the mail!

Or the Volvo front/rear suspension setup that's on here? What about some of the 240/260Z stuff?
