for my 74 year old dad's stolen 1965 Malibu. It was stolen sometime last night, from Palm Sprints, CA. It's butternut yellow with West Virginia plates, 5PM 713. The plates could have been switched. It's got a Nelson Racing Engines TT, if it's not already stripped.

Here's the link to the info on the car:

Thanks,

Oh man that sucks. I will keep my eyes posted for you. The video of the car that was posted on the NRE website is saved in my favorites. Hope you guys find it soon and get the chance to torture the d-bags that stole it.

I edited the title to show stolen car, and made it a sticky to keep it up top. Please let us know if it's found. Good luck.

Update...

The car was at a local shop when it was stolen sometime between 9:00 PM, on March 1, and 7:00 AM yesterday morning. It looks like it was targeted.

Intocarss, yes, please post it on YellowBullet. I'm not a member over there.

Thanks Jody for putting it on the top. And thanks everyone for your support.

It's not even my car and I couldn't sleep last night.

I'll post new info as it becomes available.

Considering the lack of attention this will most likely get with local law enforcement, depending on the value which looks to be high, would hiring a private investigator be worth while?

I'm starting to think someone is targeting 65 Chevelles. This is the 2nd 65 Chevelle stolen in the last month or so. http://visalia.craigslist.org/pts/2817741644.html

It's not just Chevelles, it's any classic. Anything from a 32 Ford to a second gen Camaro. I wish this country was like those third world countries and cut your f#@king hands off if you stole something and get caught. I know these are harsh words, but then again, I'm no thief, so it doesn't apply to me. Moreso than hoping this vile piece of $hit is caught, I hope the car is found. Rather the thief leaves it in a parking lot or whever. Just so long as the owner gets it back.

I'm well aware that there are all types of cars being stolen, however, these cars aren't parked everywhere. Either way, I hope the outcome is a positive one.

How does a car get stolen when its at a shop? Did they leave it outside? Id be so pissed if that was my car and they left it outside.

Did this shop have cameras/security system? Are we sure the shop isn't involved in any way?

Well, it's been over a week. No news. The video was recovered but is useless. All it shows are a couple of dark figures moving around. We've resigned ourselves to the realization that the car is gone.

Thanks everyone for your support!

Mike, each time I see this thread updated, I hope and pray that I will see that the car was found and returned to its rightful owner. One last question to ask that I don't think anyone has asked. Do you all have insurance? If so, have you placed a claim with them and what are they saying?

First time I'm seeing this. Sorry doesn't describe how I fell for him. I hope they find it and catch the thieves with the car intact.

A couple of months prior to the theft I provided my dad with the names of some specialty insurance companies. Unfortunately, he had not followed up yet. The car was not properly insured.

Good luck! And I hope whoever took it gets a cut and dies from rust poisoning.

The local newspaper just ran a story regarding the theft. Hopefully it will generate some calls.
