I had an Akita many, many years ago. My ex-girl friend ended up getting custody. Funniest dog ever. His name was Bandit. He used to sit in my truck just like I did, on his ass with his legs forward and his arm out the window.
He'd be smiling with a big old dopey look on his face everytime I took him out in my truck
My best buddy Rev:

My shop dog Bear, German Shepherd about two years old.
Being able to take your dog to work is a great luxury for both parties.
Found a stray Great Dane in the backyard this morning. He's acclimating to the house just fine. A real gentle giant, polite, and curious. Pretty strange having something this big walking around the house!

Sadly they magnify the cruelty of dog years.
Sign out in the neighborhood, craigs list add, and facebook posting. Will run him to the vet later for a scan if no responses........and we can coax him into the van.

He's awesome and the size and gentleness is surreal. He put some miles down as the fronts of his main pads have dime size raw spots on them and his nails are trimmed high and tight.

We've posted ads on Craigs List and facebook, sign up in the neighborhood, at the local market, and had him scanned for a chip at the vet......no chip and no ID on the collar, which I don't understand. Vet thought he's about 1-1.5 years old. Don't want to spoil future plans for you but picking up **** for a small and dane isn't as bad as having two kids in diapers at the same time. :unibrow:

To get an idea of what a moose our Pyrenees mix is here he is next to the horse, he is the lighter colored horse. The GSP is almost 12 and survived a brutal dog attack last year. I spent enough on vet bills to finish my build but no regrets. Both are rescue dogs.

We have some other critters too.

Yea our mix is as good natured a dog as you'd ever see. Super calm and away from the house downright docile. Had 5 kids climbing on him at the coffee shop this am.:D
At home he likes to go lay right in the middle of the chickens or by the horse and if anyone or anything other than us comes around he starts out with some pretty guttural sounding growling and then stands up and gets all puffy.
My neighbor lost a turkey to a bobcat and some chickens to the coyotes but nothing seems to come into our yard.
My neighbor has a cool critter.

It's official........Mr. Tucker Siegmund has a caring and loving home!
FWIW - He's 35" at the shoulder and easily needs to put on about 10-15 lbs. This will be an interesting relationship.
Rev's acclimating well, but occasionally has hot flashes. When Tucker's feet are healed up he better watch it. :D

Rev's Dad is Bandit
Thanks! Gwen has already laid the deposit down so no changes now. I've let her do all the "work" so I'm really kind of out of this loop. If truth be known - I wouldn't get another dog at this point. I'm loving the freedom of travel without fences and without any regard to "what's at home" etc. But at the same time - while getting some custom boot liners done yesterday - the shop had a sweet little dog (Augie) and I never stopped petting him the whole time I was there... so.....

Auto Repair Tacoma (http://pro-max.com/) ~ Austin's Pro-Max is the top location for Tacoma auto repair service. If your car, truck, van or SUV needs auto repair in Tacoma, WA we service all Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Honda, Toyota, Acura, Audi, Etc.
REALLY??? I remember suing Austin's and Blood Enterprises (actually Blood sued me - and I was able to include this shop in the counter suit) and I won. Talk about poor work! Want me to post some pictures??

Well THE SIEGMIESTER is officially responsible for all chewed furniture - and sharted on capets etc... He has signed an official document... since it was HIS FAULT that my wife jumped all over a cute little 3 month Chocolate Lab from the breeder that Sieg recommended!
She will be in Seattle tonight --- and in Sun Valley Tuesday. She needs a health certificate to fly so our son will do that on Monday and fly with her on Tuesday.
She was named Spice (Mother is Meg AKA: Nutmeg/ Father is Rocky - AKA: Almond Roca) but Gwen has already renamed her Stella.

Two is better than one.
Thus we had Alice and Elvis (you ain't nuttin' but a hound dog)....
But not this time around. We need to be fair to the dog -- and we travel A LOT.... Life is hard enough without TWO big dogs to fly etc.
Normally I would totally agree --- I used to tell people --- it's like WTF you're screwed whether you have one or two - they still need to be fed / walked / let out etc.

Besides my family my two favorite things in the world are my car hobbies and I spend what remains of my free time working with a few different animal rescues. Speciffically Pit Bull rescue. Ive never had a dog who was so affectionate and had such a BIG personality. I know everyone thinks their dogs are the best but I can tell you having never owned one once you get a taste of Pit Bull lovin you'll never own anything else.

and now the funny part, our 6lb SPCA rescue cat that runs the house. No kidding the 15lb Siamese and my Pit Bull won't mess with this little girl, Mia;

I agree 100%++++!
Also spend time doing re-education of the public in regards to Pit Bulls and it is actually one of the best parts of working in rescue. When you get to see that break through moment when someone who has been afraid of Pit Bulls their whole life and then they meet one = pure magic
The area I live in and I walk my dog every day (3-7km/day) we have what I call The Penny the Pit Bull Fan Club. I have little old ladies in their 80s+ who go buy treats to give Penny when we walk by. Somedays I think I spend more time talking to people than I do actually exercising my dog. It's actually really awesome because you really get to meet some great people regardless of what others believe .

Shelby(not after a Ford) Mine just plays Lassie twice a day. The difference being, she's leading me to her food dish. She seems to have a problem with the walking farts. Especially when you are following her. I tried to coerce her to move out by letting her out the front door but she just sits there patienty waiting for me to let her back in. She's no dummy. Now, if we leave her in the back yard on a 70 degree day with grass, a pool, and dogs in the neighborhood to bark at, when we get home, it sounds like their is a massacre in the back yard. That would be her whimpering and screeching from the punishment of being outside all day. She gets a treat pretty much every night from the other half. She will walk into the shower all by herself but she will make you feel guilty about it. We had a party and there was a meat and cracker tray on the coffee table. She decided to join in on the festivities and help herself. When I was a drunk, she would butter me up by sitting there an giving me that look, she almost always ended up with something I was eating.
She's been a great dog. Little to smelly and needy, but you can't have it all. :D

Nice looking doggers.
Our first lab (19 years ago) when left in the backyard while we went to work or elsewhere was a basket case when we came home. We started kenneling him, then just gave him run of the house and no anxiety problems. I'm convinced that when left outside he wasn't sure if we were coming back.
A kennel for 8 hours isn't an issue since they really don't have a sense of time other than sunrise and sunset and they are den animals by nature. The key with kenneling is never punish them by kenneling, that's their safe house.

That show is funny for those of us who don't have kids as well.
Nice dog by the way.

Other than she's quite happy with us -- and us with her.... not too much to report. Still to this date only one pee accident.... NO chewed up car or furniture... As long as she can SEE the ball in the snow (orange) she can fetch it - but it's spring time and if the ball sinks -- Then I fetch. She's pretty good with the frisbee and she's a good snowshoe companion... provided there's no other dogs to run off and play with.

Very cute pup. Some folks on our street have a boxer and he is bundle of energy. Great dogs especially if you are into working out every day.
