Wife and I are thinking of converting to Apple/Mac for our business. We use Peachtree for our accounting on a PC and just wondering if anyone is using Peachtree on a Mac? Any advise would be great.

Thanks,Travis

They don't make an OSx version so you'd have to run it using Parallels or VM Ware and run Windows in that environment.

Would we have to buy spyware/virus protection for the Mac and seperate protection when your running PC as a parallel.

Thanks

On my Mac, I am running "Boot Camp" that allows me to run EITHER Mac OS or Windows 7. With this software you need to buy a LEGAL disc version of Windows 7. Then you can decide what system you want to use at start up.

You could use your accounting software on Windows and then when you are finished, you can restart and do all your other stuff on the Mac. You still need all the virus protection though, for the Windows side of things.

The program is called Boot Camp and it came free with my Mac.

If you need to make a Mac run a Windows environment just to have a Mac, why not keep your Windows machine for accounting and get a Mac for whatever else you were planning to do with it?

Just makes more sense to me. Just so you know, I walk into a ton of creative shops that use Macs for their production machines. 99.9% use Windows for their books. GL Sir!

Thanks! I really enjoy asking questions on Lateral-G because everyone is so helpful! I'll talk these options over with my wife. We did get alot of help from our local Macman store, hopfully by March will be converted over.
