ok. i know this is trivial, but it is a monumental step. the old 225 slant six was yanked from my 64 Dart Gt convertible. this was my first time taking out an engine by myself. did i have the the load leveler on backwards? as you can see i couldnt shift the weight after the engine was raised because the handle couldnt move, but it seemed like it was right in the way of the firewall when the engine was all the way down.
itll be awhile before another engine goes in. the good news is Bill at Rielly Motor Sports has the AlterKtion system almost ready for my year car. the new hemis (5.7/6.1) fit, but the inner fenderwheels will probably need to be notched in order to remove the valvecovers for service. when Bills done, ill order my unit. cant wait
Cool, progress is good.
Thats cool! Doing something by yourself the first time is always a big step!
Are you talking about putting in the new hemi?? Cool!

Agreed. Any progress is a step in the right direction. It all takes time. :D

thanks guys. yes i plan on putting one of the new hemis in my car. bill at RMS has fit the new hemi in my year dart. just a few mods needed. bill recommended notching out the inner fenderwell just a little to make getting off the valvecovers easy. as you can see by the pics its a tight fit on the passengerside. hes modified some TTI headers and is waiting to hear back from them on producing them. im gonna get bills unit this year (my big purchace for this year). things will be slow for the next two years, but once my daily driver is payed off things should move faster. my darn money tree isnt producing fruit yet :D

ive ouned a 68 and 70 dart, none convertibles. when i saw these early darts as convertibles i fell in love. they just have very nice lines and the rounded fenders looked so interesting to me. i was used to squire front darts like the 67 and up cars. the 63 and 64 dart almost look like 60s era european cars..almost.
