Here is a simple graphic as to the improvements that SKF made to the ZR1 hub over the standard Corvette hub, thought it might be interesting.

Very cool Blake...

But I gotta say the creator of the captions in there is kind of a pervert.

Additional Balls? And Increased Stiffness?

Sorry. Had to.

really cool guys!

James, what are you running for gearing and locker? What axles are you going with, strange?

Jason

Thanks Jason,
Differential and gears will depend on the event. Most of the time we'll be using a TrueTrac and 3.55's but at certain events we may go to 3.89's with the TrueTrac and at others we'll probably use 2.91's and an open rear.

The Axles are built by Speedway also, they are the same ones they supply to the NASCAR Teams hituff material.
31 spline at the Diff and 33 at the Hub. 35 spline are an option at the Diff also, but that does then require removing the hub to get the axle out.

Sorry - missed that in the question.

As Blake says the Chicane axles are from Speedway. The axles I have in the Baer floater are from Speedway as well.

Since there is a 12,000 mile warranty on them I didn't think I would have to figure that out just yet..... lol

off the top of my head i do not know the exact replacement cost on them.
Yes you will have ot get them through Speedtech.

yes the center bolt retains tha axle just so it does not move in the tube, we did this to accomidate guys who were supplying their own center sections and give more flexibility on the axle lengths with different gear ratios and diff units

Just saying...

3,600+ miles on my Baer Full Floater kit and not a single problem...

Pad knock back... Gone. Completely.

And trust me - I was Hard on the brakes, multiple times a day, at over 155.

Awesome setup!

Update:
I have a little over 2000 street/hwy miles on Dust Off now and not a single issue with my Moser 9" floater. I have no reservations about recommending a floating hub rear end for anyone still on the fence trying to decide to install a floater or not. You will not find a more effective way to eliminate pad knockback than a full floating hub rear end and you will not be dissapointed.

If you're going there, my K100 had over a million miles on it's tandem floaters.

Looks good guys!

JDMan - What feedback can you give on the brake package you selected? What rotors did you decide to go with? Are you noticing any down sides to the "puck" style pads Vs. a one-piece?

thanks
Jason

I have been extremely pleased with the C6 Z06 PBR brakes. I'm using a manual 7/8" bore Wilwood MC and the Hawk ceramic padletts. I have nothing to compare these brakes to so I cannot say how they perform relative to any other brake package.
