Hey everyone,

I'm reposting this from pro-touring.com, hoping to get some more input, but when the paint is settled, I'll share more on my car's build here.

There's not a full thread for my car's build but the short version of the story is that I've had it since 1996 and it's gone through a periods of being a daily driver, sitting under a cover and sitting in a shop not getting worked on. Now it's in a shop (1257 Customs in Round Rock, Texas) actually getting worked on!

Here's the gallery of their progress:

Which brings us to today. The car is going to be painted very soon and I'm still not 100% sure on the paint scheme. We know it's going to be light silver and gunmetal and I found some pictures of a '66 post car just like mine, so I went over them in photoshop to get an idea of what my car might look like. This car and photos belong to Cullen Hamm, not me! I only added some overlays to visualize the gunmetal sections.

Here's the gallery of paint concepts:

Since mine is a post car, I like the idea of blacking out the window frames, like some of the later model faux hardtops did, as well as a blacked out tail panel like some SS models had. The car is debadged except for the grill. I didn't photoshop the wheels. I'm looking for some 18" wheels similar to these Forgelines (http://www.forgeline.com/product_images/product_photo-xlarge_image-482.jpg) but this car is going to be street driven a lot and I'd rather stick with less expensive, off-the-shelf wheels. My Bel Air has Torq Thrusts but I love the look of more spokes on a PT Chevelle, like the Air Ride '66.

Which paint concept do you like best? Or all they all butt-ugly? Any other suggestions?

I like the all silver with the darker interior. If you black the bumpers, you'll have to blacken something else to go with the theme of it like the trim or wheels and door handles, etc. Also, the more spoked wheels like the Forgeline or the mesh wheel on Ridetech's 66 Chevelle is definately gonna cost you more than an off the shelf cast wheel. But, one bit of advice I'll give you. I you want that type of wheel, get it. Because you will never be happy with the cast wheels. So, don't waste $800 plus when you can just put that towards the wheels you really want and be patient and save for the rest. If you look really close, there are several sets of 3 piece wheels for sale on here.

Like them all, but i agree with one of the album comments that if your going with the red interior I like it with minimum black

Thanks guys. The red interior is for sure; I already have it all. The one pic without red interior is just because I forgot to turn on that layer in photoshop :)

Added one more concept to the G+ gallery. The shop and I have talked about black chrome before and you're right, 509Chevelle, I couldn't get away with just the bumpers. The new concept blacks out door handles, mirrors and the around the grill trim.
