Bob, are you going to have enough room in the passenger compartment to fit comfortably? I'm not familiar enough with mustangs to know how much room they have inside. I figure it's going to be tight no matter what.

That's what I was thinking also, gonna be t-i-g-h-t. You could always look at pushing the rear wheel openings back? Not sure how much overhang there is on the rear of the transaxle? Most folks probably wouldnt even catch a 6-8 maybe 10 inch rear shift in the wheel opening.

Bob, couple questions: Does it get hot in the car when running or is there some separator between the passengers and the motor compartment? How did you fab up the cooling system for the motor? Also is there any flex when driving?
After the c6 Camaro and now this, what could possibly be next? :D

I completely missed this thread. I love the concept, but the chassis design really has me scratching my head.
You've made some structural choices that I'm curious to hear your thoughts on.
Why is there a roll hoop made from round tubing as well as something resembling a roll hoop made from square tubing?
There are round tubes running from the front main stays to the front suspension. Why are they terminated ahead of the upper control arm and not in the upper damper mount?
Why is there a sharp bend in the rear main stays? Why do they terminate behind the rear suspension?
Just as a general comment: There seems to be very little triangulation anywhere on the chassis, especially in the space between the front and rear ends of the car. As it stands now, you're almost completely dependent on the bending stiffness of your frame members to provide rigidity. Introducing triangular structures will instead load the frame members in tension and compression, greatly increasing stiffness.

...Why is there a roll hoop made from round tubing as well as something resembling a roll hoop made from square tubing?
I think the round tubing is part of the roll/support cage. The square tubing right behind it is for mounting the flat sheet metal which I assume was for close out panels to close out the cab from engine nose. See the last pic in the build in post #66 on page 7.

THIS mid engine Mustang is one I can get behind. The silver car has amazing build quality, but (in my opinion) has awful wheels and butchered the lines of one of the best Muscle Car bodies ever. Love this car!

I kinda threw it together a the last minute for the super summit here in atlanta and had to go back to finish alot of little things air, radio etc and had a problem with the push button start but its almost all done. As for the design of the chassie it's built from 1-1/2 square and 1-1/2 by 3 and 1-5/8 round. There is a fire wall that completely incloses the engine seperate and the cage strenghting the chassie.
