In the drink! Looks like he picked a nice spot to drop in, almost like a boat ramp...lol

Pelican? I'd have to side with the insurance company. He would have been better off saying he fell asleep driving a Bugatti.

That happened in my neck of the woods. Nothing but good ole pure gulf salt water.

Looks like he drove it in the lake to me.

Drove it straight in - no bird - no swerve - no stomp on the brakes... nothing. All planned out in advance would be my guess. Even choose the right spot.

Can you drive one of those in prison?

This reminds me of a story. I heard:unibrow: a guy got sick of making his boat payment and decided to sink it out at Lake Mead. He drove it out to the middle of nowhere and whipped out his 45 and you can guess the rest. Things were going well until the park service pulled up the satelite video footage and caught him playing John Wayne. You can't get away with much these days.

I have to agree that this guy is most likely screwed. The video makes it pretty obvious that he drove into the lake.

Just think about the shear coincidence behind some random person videoing this Veyron. It boggles my mind.

looks fishy to me. bet he was a little surprised to see a video surface of it going in.

I don't know what this world is coming to when a dam guy can't run a simple scam without having somebody spoil it for you :willy:

I like this comment:

"This isn't a complex case, there is someone filming him because they knew he was going to drive into the water. And who in the history of driving has swerved off of the road to avoid a bird?"

I aim for birds..

Sounds like a quote from Scooby Doo!!!!

"And I'd have gotten away with it if it weren't for you meddling kids"

"Ruh Roh, Shaggy".................................

Were the guys filming driving the Mystery Machine?

Look at it this way...somebody has already gotten a pretty good deal on a million dollar ride with a salvage title for a tenth the original sticker price. :unibrow:

These guys are toast if this goes through a court. It's pretty evident what happened, but the guys an idiot for doing it in broad daylight on a service road next to a busy interstate. Fools!

I wonder what made the rear spoiler raise up?

Don't you have to first pull over, and insert a special key in the door sill, recite the Lord's Prayer, click "OK" on a legal waiver that pops up on the sat nav screen, and put it into authorized Ludicrous Speed mode, and then, be going 175+, for that thing to pop up?

Maybe the water fried the electricals and it popped up, LOL.

Popped up is handling mode, top speed mode is almost all the way down with a small angle to it.

Funny- When I read the title of this thread, I immediately thought of this car:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1241644/The-rare-Bugatti-car-plucked-lake-70-years-fetch-80-000-auction.html

I had forgotten all about the late model Bugatti that went swimming a few years ago!
