New to the site I enclosed a couple of pictures of my 71 chevelle 454. I would love to drop it and throw some 18's on it. BUT my heart belongs to 67-69 camaros and this site with so many sick ones makes me want to sell the chevelle and pick one up. So what should I do?

OMFG, drop that ass end quick before I puke...again.

IMO, which may be ever so slightly biased, I would go with the "A" body. When you get it done you can out to the local OT events and spank the hell out of those early "F" bodies, most of them are all bling anyways (suble way of saying all talk, no action. Did I stir up any feathers?).

Denny my friend, you are all class! :D Been reading the Adams book you suggested... I think my brain is full!

Hey Cobra, Don't mind Denny, he's a little harsh at times, but he sure knows his stuff! Follow his lead and you'll be outrunning 'Vettes in the corners, I swear! As for the car, nice ride! Why start over with a Camaro (Doesn't everyone have a Camaro?) when you have such a good looking starting point there? Besides, we need more A-bodies on the site!

welcome to lateral-g cobra2547, that is a beautiful car man........i don't know that i would personally do anything with it..........maybe hold on to it and look at purchasing a camaro down the road........i am sure one will come up at the right time.......

You could alway's look at turbocharging that chevelle.........that would be way wicked.

You are kidding us? right? All you have to do is look at what you are starting with. Are you into sell/buy and loose money. Most Camaro's that are affordable are rust buckets. Keep what you have.

Keep your car, do a little suspension, brake, wheel/tire work and call it good! I know if you lowered her down a little and did the new wheel thing you would love that car all over again!!

Besides, Unique Performance has already bought up all the project '69 camaros...yeah, not a fan of that whole thing!!

Keep the Chevelle. Camaros are over-rated.

I've got a '69 Chevelle, and my dad has a '68 Camaro - the camaro SUCKS any time you need to haul more than 1 passenger or any ammount of cargo in the trunk. They're neat cars, but not practical at all. You'll miss the space if you trade, especially if you have kids. Chevelles are just the right size, not boats like the 60s Impalas, and not too small like the Camaros & Novas.

The aftermarket isn't quite as good for chevelles as Camaros, but nearly anything you can imagine is available for a chevelle.

Its a clone but has a 454 th400 and a 12bolt rear. I bought about 6 years ago out of the paper for $6500. The only things i added was power brakes and the wheels it came with pro stars but they were hurting.

keep the velle. keeep the velle. You don't want to add to the Camaro population they are plentiful enough. Hell, they even have a kit car now. Chevelles are pretty popular as well but not over done. Like someone said earlier, wheels suspension and stance and you will flat out love that thing.

Keep the velle it comes stock with a 4 link rear, you cant beat that. Plus it will stand out in a crowd at any parking lot.

Drop it, throw on some 18's, and enjoy. Hang out here long enough and you will end up supercharging the 454 and slapping in a 6L80E with a Shrifter :_paranoid , these guys give people "bad" ideas  .

That is a great blue :) .
