Here's another one that showed up yesterday. I've been looking forward to ripping into:unibrow:

It was a very nice Street Race Hero built in '95. It has one of the first 502's that was sold in the Seattle area back in the day complete with the first Jesel Drive for a 502..well that was then- http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg268/LS168/66%20Chevelle%20make-over%20to%20Pro-touring%20track%20car/011.jpghttp://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg268/LS168/66%20Chevelle%20make-over%20to%20Pro-touring%20track%20car/009.jpghttp://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg268/LS168/66%20Chevelle%20make-over%20to%20Pro-touring%20track%20car/017.jpg

The build will have the usual suspects

complete Speedtech Suspension for A- Body

Ride Tech coil overs

Rushforth Wheels

Neslon Racing Engines EFI and dyno

Baer 6 piston brakes

ATS spindles

We are going to do some cosmetics and put it back together and have some track day fun! http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg268/LS168/66%20Chevelle%20make-over%20to%20Pro-touring%20track%20car/023.jpg super clean original floor pans!

Thank's guys! The 55 was here for a small punch list and a modern EFI Stealth Ram.

Moderators- If you could remove Nelson from the title that would be cool....we are getting our client's engine back and going with a Hogans or some other idea of intake- any input on a cool big block intake?

Looks like some serious bends are in order - possibly too tight to fit?. Maybe you should send the intake my way. Besides - the smooth finish doesn't match your valve covers! :D

no way, too tight with the grill and bracketry. Unless you do a serious radiator tilt back and down a bit but that intake angles down a lot.

You can fab up a y split with aluminum pipe and go left and right of the fans, or maybe oval tube and go straight down between the fans then open up into an air cleaner box.

Nice work Chris. Good to hear you guys are doing well.

Thanks guys. The oval tube is kinda what we were thinking, maybe out of silver carbon-fiber so it kinda matches. That Nelson intake is about a mile long- fitment issues in a '66 Chevelle??

Man, I missed a lot of this thread's development. I saw the first few posts but c'mon man....that AME frame is too damn sweet!!!! Brought a tear to my eye when you stuffed the Rushforth's in the wells!!!

BTW thanks for mentioning those ABC tubs!!! I plan on eventually going with a frame like this when funds allow and it is good to know there is a "stock-style" tub on the market to give builders a running start!

Awesome build as always man!!!

Monday was a big day around here. After fighting trying to get the right gloss on the firewall after modifying it again we finally put the body on the frame for the last time.

OK- at least when we leave the driveway for Vegas.

We've been blessed with a partnership with Dynomax to bring the car down to be displayed in Hot Rod Alley.

The interior is getting finished up then it is a race to the finish line.

Hey Chris,

Gorgeous build man...

This may sound ridiculous but what did htye use in the trunk to get that shape? Looked like cardboard in the earlier pics...

Also, is that wood on the door panels? I'm just looking for ideas on my own build.

Forgot how awesome Rushforth wheels were. I cannot wait to finally get my set for my build.

Keep up the great work!

Dave

thanks Dave- the trunk is a combination of wood, aluminum and fiberglass mold. Just like the headliner. The main piece is a glass mold while the sail panels are aluminum.

well it's time to fix a few things on the car that we weren't happy with and get it wrapped up so we can beat on it this summer.

The Electromotive EFI unit got replaced with a newer user friendly Holley HP unit.

so we pulled the interior and Nelson intake apart...again. http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg268/LS168/66%20Chevelle%20make-over%20to%20Pro-touring%20track%20car/iphone056_zps2b8da324.jpg
