I have it on good authority that our very own Vegas69 has FINALLY (on the anniversary of their 10th year of dating -- how romantic is that?) asked the love of his life - Kelli - to marry him!
Please join me in wishing them all the very best life has to offer!

You guys crack me up. Greg's right, we met on November 11th, 2001. I was a young whipper snapper back then and thought I was John Travolta from urban cowboy. Anyway, I was at a local honky tonk making my rounds and I stumbled up on a group of four ladies. Naturally being the stufmuffin I was, they all wanted me.  I ask who wanted to dance and Kelli slapped me on the ass. It was a pretty easy decision! If you have met Kelli, you know that is waaaaaay out of charachter. Bottom line, I knew she was the one the night I met her. She lets me get away with murder. Drink like a ****** fish, out in the garage to the wee hours of the night, blow my retirment on car parts, have my deer heads hanging in the living room with a pool table!, she even drives a full size truck! She's waaaaaaay to damn good for me!
The date, I have no idea. I'm thinking about going to Hawaaii and just inviting immediate family. Then, have a free for all party here in Vegas to celebrate! Weld, Kelli said she traced her background on ancestry.com and you are her long lost father. Pony up.....
Not to get to sentimental but all your comments really do mean alot to me. What a great group we have. I wish I could've made it down to see you guys this year but I was beyond sizzled and really needed some down time to do NOTHING.

This is actually kind of sad.A woman that would wait around 10 years for a man to finally marry her,and a man to take 10 years to actually step up and marry her.I really don't know what else to think :( .Maybe congratulations to the both of you!:captain:

Great!
My usual "advice" when asked about marriage is to reply -- "have you gotten out of bed and actually talked to each other yet?"
There was a study done -- there is a hormone that lasts 18 months -- once that wears off a date turns into a relationship.... It may explain why the AVERAGE marriage lasts a whopping 3 years... it takes the 18 months to get over the "hump" (pun intended) and then the newness wears off. :willy:
Since we KNOW that Todd and Kelli have made it past this period... this should be a marriage that lasts!

I've heard the horror stories of marriage since I turned 18 and went out and got a real job. I'd rather go into this deal with an open mind and make my own life from it.

Not the case in my house or many others, but you have to poke at the new guy jumping in and make him think/worry a bit.
I know this is jumping the gun here, but I was told...once you have kids you never sleep again, it is only a series of short naps. Mine are 11 and 9 and that is 100% true.
Track Junky
11-14-2011, 09:44 AM
Ahhh....,Hmmm,......Horror stories,.......I'd love to tell you the long story and I hope you dont mind if I give you my experience in the short......
I made sure the the wedding cake was special ordered from Mexico, 10 lbs of finely ground spanish fly added to the frosting alone.........
After the reception, I rushed my wife to the car as my mother-n-law followed.......practically ran over my mother-n-law's toe's as I stepped on the throttle as she bellowed my wife name and I hear her voice fading away in the back ground, "Later mother-n-law, she's mine now, hah, hah, hah" I think to myself.
Just kidding. In all seriousness, in my experience, marriage is a compromise. We've had our ups and downs but I feel things got the best after 10 years probably due to not having much time for each other in the previous years. We were both 32 when we got married and we had 3 children back to back. Imagine having 3 kids in diapers at one time........definitley not easy.
We've been married 13 years now. Kids can shower and feed themselves now which makes things alot easier.
My advise, sit down with each other, discuss the future and plan accordingly.
Wish you guy's the best of luck!!
