baers rear brake shoe????

Maybe I'm just too tired and can't see the obvious solution, but I'm having the worst time getting the rear brake shoe over the axle and into place.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Btw, 9" rear with bases 14" rotors and 6P calipers for the rear back plate and ebrake shoe.

might have to pop the axle out.

Vince is prob right, but on my 9" rear/31 spline it did fit right over the axle. Also, before you pop out the axles, measure the housing end template against your bearing retainer backing plate.

3.562" x 2" with a 3.150 diameter x 1/8" deep pocket for the bearing:

Further, use the T-bolts or the supplied bolt heads won't clear the axle tube...:thumbsup:

Pulling the axle wasnt the issue. The issue is that I don't have enough space between the ebrake actuator and the axle itself.

Do I have to remove the actuator?

If I understand your question, yes you need to removed the eBrake shoe from the backing plate then mount the backing plate and then put the shoe back on.

My problem is that my axle surface is too wide and it won't go over the axle.

Maybe Vince was right? Pulling the axles would allow you to put the shoe on first.

I ran into gremlins when I went to do my install too. You may need a different shoe and/or backing plate. Call Rick in customer service @ Baer on Monday. He'll fix you up! :thumbsup:

P.S. Mic the axle diameter and the shoe opening before you call. Evidence helps vendors figure this stuff out.

It's nit the axle diameter, its the size of the mounting plate for the wheel

Now the damn bearing seal on the other side is locking up the bearing.... Uugghhh.

I figured it out.

I have to put the backing plate and the shoe on at the same time and kinda wedge them together to get them to go on.
