What do you guys make splitters from? Aluminite, carbon, fiberglass, abs, etc?

Shoot, they can make it out of it all. But, this one on the Camaro looks to be aluminum, I presume.

I have seen them do it both ways... For instance.... Rampage is carbon but other projects I have seen are thin wall steel or aluminum. Whatever the project calls for and the application.

Exactly why I said the can make it out of whatever you want them to. They'll even carve you one out of billet with that fancy 5-axis machine they have if you want them to.

Funny, I am an Aerospace engineer and we play with cool hardware all day long. In spite of that there is a certain lack of creativity because every part has to have pedigree and be at least somewhat like the last one we made. There is a little kid-like part of me that would just like to chuck it all and go sweep floors at the Roadster Shop and watch all this happen. Of course that isn't possible but I can dream !!

You'd have to get in line behind me and I'm sure I'd be in line behind 100 other guys. Lol!!

Although, I love every aspect of this car from the color to the custom splitter, what very small detail I love the most is the two-toned bumper. I love how the contoured lines of both bumpers splits the black paint from the white paint. That is so cool. To me, that small detail gives the illusion that the front grill and tail are larger than they really are. When in reality, it is just the black paint extends onto the bumpers.

:king: :king:

What he said!
Big leap of faith from an owner that has all black cars to go white on this one...how does that conversation go? Obviously the right decision, basic white has never looked so good! Love it!

This Camaro is sick! It's gotta be one of my favorite builds put out by the extremely talented crew at the Roadster Shop. Well done, well done.

Tone, I love the "storm trooper" analogy. Makes me think back to when I was about 5 or 6 years old and there was this full size storm trooper helmet that I saw and wanted in a toy store. I put it on and it fitted perfectly too. I remember it like it was yesterday and I'm 41 now....2 months shy of turning 42. My mom told me no. I begged and cried. She couldn't afford it and it was only $30. Like I said I remember it like it was yesterday. But, I bet that $30 was probably like $300 back in the $70's and a $30 toy helmet was definitely out of the question. Til this day, seriously, when I see storm trooper helmets I just start feeling funny and smile on the inside. Not a big Star Wars fan, but storm troopers a just cool.

I have a question for you guys at RS. Can you built a bumper, quarter patch and back panel patch tout fit the bumper like this one without having the car for customer like me that live far?

They can, I'm sure. But, the fit can't be guaranteed because every car is different. Especially, since you're talking bout a car over 40 years old.

If we were building one on another car at the same time, we would be able to do it. With out a car here to fit against, it would be rather difficult. I would not want to take on a project like that and send you something that may or may not fit. The best bet is to have the car here adn build the parts to the specific car.

I didn't think that there would be something else you could possibly do to 69 that was fresh and impressive. This is my favorite 69 Camaro of all time---I love the front end and the white on black--and of course the stance. It's beautiful. I sure hope the owner appreciates your design and creativity as it is elegant yet aggressive at the same time. Beautiful---and a dream car fulfilled.

Thanks everyone!

A couple of interior pieces we machined: a shifter surround to house the window switches and a custom toggle switch plate for all the accessory functions, (race/street gas tank crossover, headlight doors, trunk release etc)

I generally prefer a more stock looking appearance with Camaros, and honestly when I first saw the pics of the car after the suspension upgrades, before you started bodywork on it, I didn't think it could be improved any further - but you guys did it. This is far and away one of the best 69' Camaro builds I've ever seen.

It's always the challenge with the '69. How to keep it fresh and give it its own identity. Thankfully Ben gave us a good amount of freedom with the styling and now he wont have to worry about pulling up next to a 'similar' one. (Although there will always be that guy at the car shows who "had one just like it"...)
