It's a 68 (Not a real SS) It's got a Pump gas 383, Alum heads, solid cam, Holley 700 or 750 cfm, N2o, Turbo 400,(old owner thought it was a turbo 350 He He) 10 bolt 4.56's , race axles, alum support cover, 8 point roll bar.The guy has owned it in this same condition since 2002

My plan is to change out the spool to a posi, change the rear gears, take off the traction bars, change out the auto to a 5 or 6 spd, get different springs front & rear sway bars, different wheels, 4 wheel disc mini tub it... and maybe an LS eng?? And make her a Cyn Carver.

Nothing will happen for a while though. RT now I got to fix some small stuff and get that spool out, install my Taurus fan and alum radiator I already have and just have fun cruzn it on the streets. I'll keep you all up with the progress

PS I will be selling or trading these drag parts for parts I need to make her handle!!

im probably going to be picking up a car with 4.56 gears too....what is the driving like with them...i have to pick up the car and need to drive it back about 150 miles.

Think it will be a problem? Just worried a little about the high RPM on the highway.

Depending on tire size it will be about 3500 -3800 rpm on the highway at around 50--60 This is what I remember from many years ago with my old Camaros with 4.56's.. I have only driven this one a few street miles so far

IMOHO I wouldn't want to drive it that far at that RPM

Congrats dude! Reminds me of my car. I like it just the way it is-tough street/strip car. It's almost more rare now to see a Camaro like that than one with 18s. Throw some cal tracs on it and some DRs and go deep 10s all day!

West Hills, let me know when you're out and about, maybe we can meet. Do you do Bob's or Supercar Sunday? I used go to Bobs all the time and been to Supercar Sunday a couple of times, but haven't in a while as I only had my race car. Guess I'll have to go more now..Jerry

Decent vid and sounds good Jerry. Sounds alot like my white one.

I tried uploading camera vid of mine to you tube and it got jammed up and stuck on 100% uploaded but 12% processing and that took over 6 hours and wouldn't complete processing so I cancelled.

Not much to report, I did do a removable swing bar and moved the tach from the piller to the steering column. I also installed a gas level gauge in the air duct (since the air duct isn't hooked up ) and hopefully this weekend ( Thanks Tracky!) I will be making the change from the auto to a 4 spd

Got the 4 spd in and installed an alum radiator and a taurus fan I had left over from my other car. Next will be a complete ready to bolt in brand new 9" Ford rear as soon as I pay it off (the owner is letting me make payments). NEXT is wheels and hopefully by the first of the year suspension and a big brake kit!!

Took it out today for a lil drive... YUP sticks are fun!

The shifter (Hurst comp plus) came up farther back so I made this extention to put the stick where I wanted it (wires are for the roll control)

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y3/real3/IMG_5060.jpg

Had to run a big ass boot to cover everything seeing as the carpet was already cut and was held down by a SS emblem and a chrome outer ring of a shifter boot from the old owner LOL

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y3/real3/IMG_5063.jpg

Fan and radiator.. The low speed of the fan is hooked to a 190* stat and goes through a 70 amp relay and has the Ford OEM 40/60 breaker on it. I'll hook the high speed up next summer..

Thanks Tracky, Yeah when I made the new + battery cable I thought about relocating it all to the trunk. But I got all kinds of amp/stereo wires etc going to it rt now and will have to make a pick up point for them under the hood or send them to the trunk too

Your car looks awesome!

The BMW wheels look great! But I have heard conflicting stories as to the longevity of it. BMW have a 120MM bolt circle and your Camaro have 120.65MM. I know what is .65MM difference going to make? I do not know? How are they working out for you?

Thanks.

There's a chevelle on pt.com running those wheels, he has had them on there for like 4 years and raced the cars numerous times going triple digets and hasent had any problems also lots of 4th gen cars run wheels meant for gto's.

But I do recall there was a thread here before with some engineers showing data about it not being safe.

Dhamen You're correct, .65mm is equal to .0255" . It does put some stress on the studs, I am running ARP extnted studs and a custom 1/2" & 1" hub & wheel centric spacer made for these wheels..Some people had issues with the wheel nuts loosing up,

I haven't had that happen. I also have been checking the lugs after each drive so far and all is good. I may get flamed here... But I would also say "how accurate" are some of the lower end wheel's bolt hole spacing people run and have no issues? I hope it works out if not I'll have wheel adaptors made. And thanks for the complement

These are supposed to work.:_paranoid Varinuts, they are about 1/4 of the way down the page. I am sure somebody makes these with inch measure treads. I do not know anybody that has used them.
