Yeah that build is showing its age quite a bit. However, it looked to be a pretty well done job so why in the world did they use a 455 oldsmoturd motor?
Easier to drop the transaxle in maybe? It's a completely packaged assembly and I imagine with a bit of frame work it would go in fairly smooth compared to what may have been available at the time.
I saw a Dodge D50 with twin turbo done in a similar way with the same motor set up. Giant engine with turbo plumbing everywhere, all exposed parts were chrome. It was fugly.
Yes, it was all in the bed of the truck.

Ahh I guess that makes sense as far as availability. Having dealt with trying to get power out of a 455 Olds before it suprised me to see it in this thing.

I remember reading about that car years ago. Still looks incredible and contemporary after all this time and considering all the fantastic builds that have happened since.
