At the point of needing to order the fuel tank for my current project, and looking for input on performance to value and simplicity issues. Car is a 3-Linked 69 vert, cam'd/ported head LS3 (for now), realistic output ~500, possibly a bit less. A stock tank fits fine with rear suspension, etc.

Read about Carl's Vaporworx setup which looks great, but not a lot of info on how this can be adapted. I would have no objection to modifying a new repop stainless tank to accomodate, but don't know how hard this is to pull off? Also, I would prefer an in tank fuel pump, AN-6 in and out fittings, with enough pump output to handle slightly higher future output (I don't see going above 650 HP with this car ever, though). In other words, essentially drop in simplicity. I spoke with Rick about his tanks at Del Mar earlier this year and thi sis still an option as well, but I don't really "need" a super nice tank for the car, and a fuel cell is not an option for this build.

Anyone have enough detail on how to pull off the Vaporworx in a stock style tank? Worth the effort?

PM CarlC on this board. He IS Vaporworx and is very helpful. He can explain whatever you need. Check out my build thread in my sig. line. I am building my own tank using the Vaporworx technology to do exactly what you are doing. Our engine makes 614hp. Goodluck.

Hey Mark - Glad to see you posting here again! Carl and JCG Cris have adapted the Vaporworx components into a SS repop if I recall correctly. You'll need about an 8" depth for the pick ups. As Chad mentioned, you can reach him here or over email @ [email protected]

I believe the theortical cut off for 5th Gen vs the CTS set up is =/- 600hp, but Carl will verify. Post some pics as you move forward on it!

Carl is a great guy, a great friend (that I only seem to see once every year or two, for an hour...), and I would suspect super duper busy. I knew that he was involved in this, and as such I already have a lot of confidence because he is really competent. I did see a pic or two of this adapted to stock tanks but hadn't found the exact info, thought I'd start this in hopes to collect for others looking for info in the future.

Thanks!!!
Mark
