That looks good, did you order all the hard lines from VA or did you bend yourself?
Thanks

Those hard lines look exactly like the ones VA supplies. There are three peices. The one between condenser and filter/drier is 100% hardline. The other two switch to rubber shortly after they pass under the core support.

They came with the complete kit - fit like a glove.

What you don't see there is the trinary switch that I installed before charging the system. It kicks the electric fan on at 250kpa and cycles the compressor as long as it stays above a mimum level. The trinary is great because it keep sthe fan from running when you are going down the highway.

Thanks guys, I don't know anything about VA and air conditioning. First I've heard about a trinary switch, I'll have to look into it. Car came w/VA 2 in boxes and the bracket was already installed by DSE years ago which is still on their site so unless there's a big reason not to use the older model I'm going to stick w/it. It didn't come with compressor, condenser, drier or any of the lines so I need to add those items but first I need to research and know how to go about doing it. I added the march system package that had a compressor so now I'm moving forward from there. If any of you have helpful hints and pictures, I'm all ears and eyes.
Thanks again

Trinary is the only way to go.

When I bought the 70 Chevelle I had it came with a VA kit half way installed. Many parts were missing but VA was very helpful assisting me to determine what I needed.

Give them a call.

 You can't beat their product - service - and performance!

I have the earlier model in my Camaro - no complaints. Still cools the car just fine, but it is a little more simple set up. I've since put the Magnum units in all the other projects. Very sophisticated and amazing, but at the end of the day it simply cools or heats the cabin which is what we crave.

I see no reason why you can't go with the Magnum style/Gen IV condenser, drier, and lines since both of them terminate on the firewall in about the same way. The only thing is you will have a custom length on the lines to the compressor since you are using the other brackets. No big deal, easy to modify.

So the system didn't come with a trinary switch?

So the system didn't come with a trinary switch?

It will if you order it that way, otherwise it will just be a binary to trip the compressor clutch. That assumes you are running a mechanical fan.

So what's the trinary switch do that the binary switch doesn't?

I'm an a/c noob. :P

The binary is only to cycle the a/c clutch. It screws into the drier unit and if the pressure gets too low it will kick the clutch out.

The TRINARY does that...plus it will complete a ground loop to you fan relay when the a/c head pressure gets to 250kpa (don't quote me on that number).

That way, your electric fan does NOT run when you are going down the highway just because the a/c is on. It will only cycle the fan when it is needed.

If you don't have an electric fan on your radiator then you don't need the Trinary switch.
