View Full Version : C6 Wheels On A 1st Gen Camaro?
I've heard mixed answers and would like to know if its possible.
If this setup will work... What wheel size and backspacing would be best? I'm sure this will require some adaptors or spacers, which are the safest to use?
Thank you very much.
I am also thinking about going this route http://shop.jwmotoring.com/product.sc?productId=126&categoryId=19
Track Junky and Payton King have both run C6 wheels. Z06 and standard. Search those names and see what you come up with.
Track Junky has a thread in the suspension section "handling issues after changes"
And Paytons car/build is under "dead cat". Lots of good info in both. And both of those guys use the cars on the track too, good info for you.

Without mini-tubbing your not going to be able to fit a wheel wider than 10" or a tire wider than a 275 and thats just the rear. Up front with a stock subframe I dont suggest running a wheel wider than a 9.5. It is possible to get a 275/40 up front but you will need to cut portions of your inner wheel well out.
Also, dont assume backspacing is the same on all vette wheels. They change from year to year, and model(standard versus Z06, etc)
I have a link that I use and will try and post that converts offset to backspacing and another link that tells you what offsets certain vette wheels are per year and model of car.
