Vince, sorry I don't have a bare LS2 block, but if you cannot find one and willing to go a different route, I have a bare 6.0 iron block. Let me know.:woot:

Vince I did this hunt a few weeks back. Seems the resleeve guys snatch these up quick! Best I found was eBay $400, scored/damaged sleeve. You'll see them on Craigs on occasion as well. Good luck!

Thanks Guys,
Well we are getting closer. looks like it will be close to what Texas speed sells a short block for. only hinge point would be shipping. Search continues.
I have an iron block...use it for mock up.

How much are you looking to spend? New ones are around 1000 plus shipping on gm parts direct.

I bought my new engine from Texas Speed. If you can wait a few more months they may be running a "free shipping" deal near the end of the year as a Christmas Special. That's around the same time I bought mine. They normally do it every year. It saved me a few hundred bucks.

yeah I was going to go that route but it would nickle and dime the hell out of us with all the small parts. Think that last tally was 11,5.

Ok. Original post was for bare block. I saw Ron post $400 for a block with a damaged sleeve and figured in the end maybe you could have a new bare block for nearly the same. Good luck with the hunt!

http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/pts/2511807543.html
http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/pts/2506924772.html
and then eBay...

and elsewhere...

otherwise you could check also with someone like Thomson Automotive but probably similar cost to Texas Speed.

Just out of curiosity, what is the difference betweeen this block on eBay and the new one from GMPP? Asking because I'm going to be looking in another year or so as well.

about $800 bucks. LOL
Hopefully in a year they will be plentiful like the LS1's are now.
If you see a good deal snatch it up. You know what they say, you always find what you need when you aren't looking.

I meant more along the lines of prep work to the GMPP block before assembly. Does it need to be honed or is it good to go? Where is the other $300 coming from? I see $500 on eBay and $1024 on gm parts direct. Both plus shipping. Shipping on GM Parts Direct seems steep at $245, but I'm guessing the eBay block wouldn't be much different?

2010 LS3 6.2 Engine/Parts/ZO6 Cylinder heads
Date: 2011-08-07, 11:50AM
Moving this week gotta be out by the first of september. Gonna give it away for 1500:This is a LS3 6.2 liter engine out of a 2010 camaro ss that i got from a engine swap after it had a failure due to already built with nice aftermarket parts to make over 500hp. Then they decided to put a supercharger on it, and of course the engine didn't like it. Was going to use in my brothers 66 GMC, but he is going a diff. route. I am moving next week and have a new baby on the way. So with no chevy projects in the near future do not want to clutter up new house with parts not needed. Here is a list of all the parts I have which is a complete LS3 engine disassembled with all nuts and bolts to reasssemble and as a extra am throwing in a set of 2009 ZO6 LS7 cylinder heads. selling over 12000 dollars of parts for 3000 dollars. to reassemble only need one rod and piston, gaskets of course, block needs to be repaired or purchase new. already priced it all out. will put part numbers and prices up soon.....can't beat this amazing deal.
Here is the list:
-Complete LS3 engine from intake to oil pan disassembled, minus ignition coils, harness, exh. manifolds, t-body.
-Balancer, Flywheel and clutch with 90%left
-ARP Head studs
-Scat forged H-Beam rods
-SRP forged aluminum pistons with rings
-Stock LS3 Forged crankshaft
-High Performance aftermarket custom ground hydraulic roller camshaft with lifters
-All LS3 pushrods and roller rocker arms
-LS3 cylinder heads treated to a full port and polish job
-2009 LS7 ZO6 cylinder heads minus valves, but have comp cams springs with all titanium hardware
-Compcams hardened pushrods
call Scot 520-465-
will have pics up soon and can send pics via text or email.
