Hey there!! Been a fan of this site and looking at the great builds of some of you for quite some time now, but decided to finally join.. I bought my 69 Camaro Z28RS from a friend of a friend, he decided to sell me his 69 one day after I looked at it, he needed to sell since he was trying to finish building his house, not sure why he needed another house since his was already 8,000sq, LOL. He wasn't sure if it was a true Z RS so we settled on 14K.. The following day I called GM and they verified it was a true Z28RS California built. I enjoyed the car for 2yrs. then decided to tear it down and restore to my liking. Original interior was inxcellent shape. My Friend who owns a bodyshop said I could take it there. After sanding off the old original Daytona Yellow with black stripes ( paint was also in great shape) the original sheetmetal was in excellent shape with only a pin size hole on lower fender, I cut it out and tacked a new piece.. This is of course my first project and knew I had to learn bout mini tubbing.. I ordered a DSE kit, painted the car back to Daytona yellow, black underneath, powdered coated the subframe, did coilovers Speed tech upper and lower control arms and ATX spindles.. I just put an order thru Jon at Driverz inc for Fikse Profil 5S 18x9 and 18x12, doing C6 Z06 braking front and rear.. My friend owner of LME built me a LS6 427 and I picked up a Viper trans for the car.. For now I am sticking with the DSE 3" leaf springs.. I have no plans of drag racing or autocross racing.. LOL I barely have time to drive my 99 Hugger SS barely 37, miles never seen rain, Suspension and motor built on the SS as well.
I know some may think I am retarded for cutting up a true Z car, but I was not going after original nor reselling and making a profit... I started this project back in 2005, it spent an extra year at shop after I cut the tendon on my finger in a freak accident, I finally got the car back in my garage a yr ago and I just started 3 months ago putting it back together.. As for pictures I never intended in the beginning of posting pics, which now I wish I had.. The pics I did take, I took with my iphone that got stolen, lol.. I will now try and take pics so I can post... I don't have a project name but I do have some badges that say Z07..
