My son turned 1 and that's pretty cool. We went to the beach all day and had fun. Max loves the water and loved all his presents (spoiled little kid!). It felt like the longest day of my life and I have no clue why. I took all of Sunday just to recover! Didn't even watch NASCAR, that's how tired I was! Go figure!

Anywhoozle,

Here's one pic from the several hundred I shot that day.

Awesome man! Congrats.

Before I had kids, I drove to North Carolina to buy a 73 Camaro drag car. While I was there I had Sunday lunch with the guys family. I mentioned my wife and I were thinking of having kids and he said "you'll get a lot more enjoyment out of having kids than you ever will out of that car". At the time I thought he was nuts.

Now that I have a 3 and 5 year old, I understand the ultimate wisdom in his words....

Have fun with him, we've got a lot of fun years ahead!

Looks like we need a play date! Our 1yr olds can play, the wives can chat, and we can wrench on your Camaro.

They don't change even when they become teens..... Mom and I spent HOURS cleaning up the frosting smeared EVERYWHERE..... it was worth every minute and these kids (now 21 year olds) are still talking "about the time...."

That 1st birthday is a great day! My son turns 4 in October and I couldn't imagine life without him now. I know for me, with him getting older, we are having even more fun...but, like other people said I'm afraid before we know it, he will be off to college. Enjoy every minute, because it has definitely gone fast so far.

No truer words ever spoken! I have 3 & 6 yr old boys and wouldn't have it any other way! The car sitting in my garage unfinished......it will be there tomorrow!

I may be speaking for some of the older dads here. You enjoy and consider every day of your son's and daughter's lives...they will soon be thinking independently and not looking to you for guidance any longer, spreading their own wings getting ready to fly, and that time cometh right soon...

It's hard for me to believe that my own son is 25 and my daughters are 17 and 23 with my middle daughter married and just giving us our second grandchild! I now not only have pix like the one with your son with his face in the cake, but of my grandson doing the same. Being a dad is like a bucking bronco and a roller coaster ride all at once, but it is all worth it!

Congrats and awesome picture Max.
