I wanted to wait until it was done to post but summer will be ending soon and after one engine builder failing to meet his dead line and the second doing the same I'm about 8 weeks behind schedule. As soon as the motor shows up I can finish it.

The car started as a pro-street car. I left the Chris Alston 8 point cage but all other pro-street items were removed. I replaced the stock upper control arms with Global West. The turbo 400 was removed and I have an M-21 for it that was rebuilt in 2008. The motor will be a brand new first gen 420 hp motor. The 9" rear has been replaced with a 12 bolt posi. The original brake system has been replaced with a new Baer Track Plus set up. Tires are new 275/40 BF Goodrich G-Force Sports and will be 275/40 on all four corners mounted on 17x9.5 Torque Thrust Wheels. The heater boxes and heater core have been re-installed with new heater control assembly. All weather stripping is brand new incuding trunk and hood. Interior is super clean.

Hoping to get somewhere around $28,000 but would also like to get input from members here to see if price is in line.

Here's what I started with.......

Where are you located?

I assume in those pictures the engine wasn't in it since it looks like the nose is riding really high.

More pics would be nice too.

I'm in Northern California 30 minutes east of Sacramento. The front is riding high because there is no motor or trans in it. The rear is high because I have not installed the drop leafs. Not much to see in the engine bay since there is no motor but I did install a new engine harness. The seats that came with the car were fixed back pro-street seats so I pulled yhem out and I haven't decided on what seats yet but they will be incorporating a 4 point harness. Interior is super clean.

These are some interior pics from when I picked up the car. I will take some current ones tomorrow. The toggle switches are no longer there and I have reinstalled the heater control along with heater boxes and heater core. I'm still trying to figure how I'm going to do the gauges but they will all be mechanical Autometer.

Thanks John. I have been building it but I didn't want to bore you guys with a basic bolt on build thread. Anyone can throw in a rear, bolt up brakes, etc.

As soon as motor shows up I can complete it.

My only regret is that I dont have room to pull subframe and give it a true Pro-Touring/Lat-G cleansing.

I have had approved plans for a shop build on my property for a year now and as soon as I sell this the shop goes up and hopefully I can get to build some cleaner rides.

I just noticed that B&M rachet shifter. Haven't seen one in 30 years. That is a classic rt there.

Classic rt indeed. The car sat in his garage for twenty years without a motor. When he decided to start a motorcycle engine rebuilding business he pulled the car out and it sat in the rain for one winter. He couldn't stand to see it left outside so he decided to sell it.

The car will be getting an M-21 that was rebuilt in 2008 and I have the receipts. The guy who sold me the M-21 told me he was going to a 5 speed and that the M-21 might have maybe 1000 miles on it.

Finally got a tracking number on the motor. It will be here August 30th and the car should be complete in the middle of September.

Dyno sheet included with engine and I was told it made 421 HP.

After 14 weeks of waiting I finally got my motor.

Sorry, this is kind'a turning into a build/for sale thread but I expected to finish this thing in June and I had two engine builders delay me.

OK, looks like no love for the white '69 but I'm tellin' my story anyways.

What an F'd up day. Turns out, the guy with that pulled the M-21 from his '69 and sold to me was running an '86 or newer small block. When he threw in the flywheel I assumed it would work on a first gen block so I drove to the nearest machine shop to have it resurfaced. He told me to come back in an hour so I went by Oreilly's to pick up a clutch alignment tool.

Picked up the flywheel and when I got home, turns out '86 and newer blocks use a 2" flywheel hole diameter at the crankshaft. ****!! So I grab the original flywheel from my car and take it back to the machine shop. Mind you, this is 40 miles round trip. He has it done in twenty minutes and cuts me a deal for my troubles. I get home, throw the flywheel on, and then when it's time to throw the clutch on I find out Oreilly's gave me the wrong clutch alignment tool. ****!! So I run back there and the tell me the only Orielly's that has the right tool is up by where I got my flywheel resurfaced. ****!!

Well it took me all day and almost 175 miles of driving but I got the flywheel, clutch and pressure plate on.

And then to top it off, I go to start barbeque'n for dinner and I'm out of propane. 6 Bud Lights later and I'm feeling fine.

Well my day started at 6:00 a.m.. I decided to put a power steering box in this car since it came with manual and I just so had one laying around from my other '69. So I pulled the manual box off and when I went to swap rag joints it appears that the one that goes on the power steering box has a larger diameter splined shaft.

Looks like I'm going to have to order a new power steering box rag joint so I'm delayed a bit for now since I dont have time to dig one up right now and need to get to my real job.

Hopefully I can finish up early and then try and find one at a local parts store.

Looks like its going to work out perfect once I add acceseries and radiator.

Oh yeah, and my Corbeau A4's showed up today. Thanks for the seats Andrew.

Thanks Carl. It was great meeting you and always cool to meet another member of this forum in person.

The guy that sold me the M-21 threw in the clutch fork but the tip of the retaining clip for the throw out bearing was broken off on one side.

Who would have guessed after a few days of searching for an original oem clutch fork (didn't want to wait for it to be shipped) that Folsom Chevy would have one to me in a day.

Take care of that collar bone!!

I haven't minitubbed this one but for another $2000-2500 and I can make that happen. Car is running a stock tank.

A little more progress today. Installed the fuel tank, got all the new accessories and pulleys on, installed new one wire alternator, ran new fuel lines from front to back, got the fuel pump installed.

All thats left is to throw the new MSD distributor and MSD box in, install new Be Cool radiator plus hoses, wire up fan, install belts, install drivers side header, put oil and water in her, and then hook up the temporary gauges so I can monitor oil pressure and water temps.

The new center console wont be showing up until the 25th and it will be a new stock '69 console with the autometer gauge pod and gauges.

LOL, yeah, I'd love to, only my gauges haven't showed up yet and I want to be able to monitor oil pressure and water temps.

I was told they should show up the week of the 26th so hopefully I will be able to fire it up then.

I've got my kids baseball games today but tomorrow I'm going to try and mount the MSD box somewhere under the dash and mount the coil either on the intake or bolt it to the firewall. I still need to secure down the thermostat housing but I'm waiting on temp gauge. If I install housing first it might interfere with temp sending unit that I will be installing in the front of the intake since the spout for the thermostat housing
is bearing a hard right.

I ordered the whole kit from Steve's Camaro's. From what I understand so far is that This will be a clutch operated neutral safety switch. The switch bolts some where around the steering column and the purple wires tie in at the switch. I believe the switch has a lever on it. A rod attatches to the clutches upper arm and the lever on the switch. When you push the clutch in the rod attatched to the upper clutch arm and lever move forward activating the ignition when the clutch is pushed in.

Maybe I will swing by and see you and Vince tmrw (today)... it's not far from me and I've been meaning to drop by there anyway.

What time you heading down there?

Just left there and I am at my mother-n-laws now.

Vince is going to finish cutting the latter bar cross member out for me because i couldn't get a full cut on it safely without putting it on a lift and I want the latter bar set up to come out of the car clean so I can hopefully resale it later. Also need to cut a portion of the front leaf spring buckets where the previous owner had welded it at one location and I cut a portion of that also while it was up on jack stands but once again couldn't complete a clean cut safely without puttng it on a lift.

Got the opportunity to take some bottom pics. Disregard any loose wiring as all wiring will be clean and tight before car is completed. There are a few little surface rust spots that will be cleaned up before sale also.

Bolted up the exhaust, hung the battery wire nice and tight to the frame rails, put the driver side corbeau tracks together, bolted the tracks to the driver seat and it was all over from there.

Few more things to do but was having to good a time driving it around so I said screw it and drove it around for awhile, LOL.

She'll finally be done by this weekend!! :woot:

Yeah, I'll take those pics for you but I think I will be back down there in two weeks anyways.

Been a busy couple days but she's almost done. Center console and gauge pod wired and complete, bolted the new Corbeau A4 seats in and replaced the carberator from the 850 to a 750. The mouse that was living in the trunk snacked on some tail light wiring so I did a little work there.

Still need to install shocks, swap rear tires after borrowing wheels for Buttonwillow, get a trunk pan put in, and then give her a bath.

Thanks Jerry, those photos look alot better than the ones I posted.

I left the original big block springs up front and cut 3" off of them. Going to see what they feel like after I throw the shocks in and If I dont like it I'll pick up another set of springs.
In the rear I picked up some Detroit 2" drop springs but them darn drop springs never drop the car what they advertise so I added a 1" block. I'll have to measure the rear but right now I'd say the drop leafs probably lowered the car 1" so at this point I'd have to say with the 1" block 2" in the rear.

As far as video goes, I never have any luck getting them uploaded but that is with the GoPro. I'll try using my camera tomorrow and see how that works out.

Thanks Dave!

Sorry, but the burnouts will only come from the Orange car. This white one is up for sale and the tires have been listed as bran new, lol :D

We'll see how much luck I have posting up some video of some exhaust tone. I was tuning the carb yesterday and reving it up while it was in the garage. It was only about 5 minutes of ideling and reving and my neighbor came outside and started yelling at me from his porch. I couldn't hear him but I could see the disgruntled look on his face and his lips moving. I turned to him and gave him the finger, lol. Wish I had some video of that!! lol

As you can tell me and my neighbor have been buddies a long time, lol.

The white '69 is now registered and insured!!:D Been non-op since 2000.

Installed QA-1 single adjustable shocks on all four corners this morning and then drove her in the pouring rain. Thanks to the new weather stripping throughout no leaks!!

Scheduled for an alignment tomorrow. Trunk pan install scheduled for this weekend.

Going to be driving her around this week quite a bit to check for any quirks or bugs and if all is well will probably drive it to the bay area for its scheduled trunk pan install.

Got the alignment done on the car today and it drives great!! I'm really impressed with the Baer Track Plus brake system. I've had to adjust the proportioning valve three times now and can still probably use more bias towards the rear.

I started with running an 850 Holley carb but then started thinking fuel mileage and switched to a 750 Holley. After driving around for awhile I've decided to switch back to the 850 as I noticed a loss in power on the top end with the 750 which is typical of dual plane manifolds. They tend to like big carberators.
