Just finished putting the VHX in the 68 Project R Bird of Pray.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the single most amazing product I've ever installed. In fact, it was the easiest gauge install - ever.
First, the gauge set fits in the stock panel like a glove. The sensors all go in quick and easy. They each have their own harness. One really cool thing is they all fit back through the stock speedo grommet. No holes drilled - period.
I cut the plug off the stock gauge cluster and pulled the wires into the control unit - then hooked up the sender harnesses.
In a few minutes later I was plugging in the ether net cable...and setting them up.
Did I mention - they look fabulous!

Here are the pics.
The first shot is the stock gauges.

This is what you see when you open your box.

We zip tied the control box behind the cluster. The stock i/p harness comes in the same area, so after clipping the plug off I was able to direct them into the correct slot on the box. The sensor harnesses all have a designated spot. We took some label tape to mark everything so future service would be super easy.

The sensors were a breeze. Especially the speedometer sensor. the adapter screwed onto the trans where the cable housing goes then the harness plugs directly in.
You have to love how simple this is - the Ethernet cable just plugs in.

Even when powered down they look spectacular.

Here is the money shot! Everything about this gauge set is attractive and functional. The LED back light is perfect.

They look killer! I have been going back and forth on installin them or Auto Meter. I have the Dakota Digital on my Big Dog K9 chopper and love it. It's a great company and they stand behind their product. Decisions...decisions.

I need to post a current picture with the interior done and all the wires tucked nice and neat where they belong.
We now have about 300 miles on the car and the gauges have simply been wonderful.
One of the really cool features is the dual (A and B) trip odometers. This is great because I've been able to log off miles while trying some different things with the carb settings..etc for MPG and other recording.
It is so nice to have the blinkers, high beam...brake warning...etc. integrated into the face of these gauges. In the past I've had to drill and mount individual LED lights around other gauge brands. It never really looks or feels factory and they always seem out of place. Not the case here.
