View Full Version : Yes, more about hydraulic clutch.....
Can anyone tell me what vehicles from GM would be a good source for the hyd clutch cyl and remote res?
I want to use as many factory parts in my build as possible. I found a remote res system in a Fiero that LOOKS like it may work. But I don't know what bore size I will need to work the clutch properly.
Any ideas?
Thanks again guys!

What engine and transmission are you using? For LT1/T56 with pull style clutches a lot of guys use the late 1990's camaro master/slave. If you buy the master and slave as a package they should match. If sourced separately then you need to have the master sized to match the slave. Although if you have special needs like a short pedal throw you can use a larger diameter master to get the activation you need.
Thanks for the info. I am using a LS motor and probably a t56.
I get what youre saying about the slave being sized correctly. Your reply helps a bunch. Thanks again.

I used all 4th gen LS1 hydraulics in my 69. Used speedtech's firewall mount & rod for the master to connect to stock 69 pedals. Scott

Thanks Scott. I am currently looking for a 4th gen setup like you mentioned.

I just installed the American Powertrain hydramax kit. Works perfect. After going thru 2 McCraps throwout bearings. They make their own and its super smooth.

McCraps throwout bearings
I second that. Went thru 2 before I learned my lesson. I am really good at removing transmissions however.
WORST THROWOUT BEARING EVER!

Speaking of, looks like they just a put up a video of the Hydramax kit. Shows how to set up the measurement. That was one of my problems to begin with. Nice set up.
