Has anybody ran the C6 Z06 brakes with manual braking? if so which master cylinder did you use? and what size bore? I was looking at a wilwood 1.125" bore to run mine.

car is around 2800lbs.

thanks guys

I have those on my Cutlass (fronts only right now). Tobin @ Kore3 recommended 7/8" bore.

Not sure about that Matt. I run a 1" bore with likely less piston volume and th pedal is firm. I like it but you may need to start doing some leg presses at the gym. Figure out your piston volume and find a calculator or call tobin at Kore3 and buy some parts from him. He knows brakes.

Todd I can leg press 1200lbs (like a boss) yeah ill have to call Tobin on monday and see what he has to say Ill start running the math and compare notes with Tobin.

Im just worried because there IS 20 pistons yet maybe small but im thinking the 1.125" bore will help with the pressure I could be wrong.

edit: C6 Z06 brakes require 1600psi (says the internet) so I whipped out the scientific calculator and got down to buisness

Based on 150lbs pedal force.
7/8" bore 1600 PSI - Force on prop rod 960lbs - pedal ratio 6.4:1
1" bore 1600 PSI - Force on prop rod 1264lbs - pedal ratio 8.43:1
1 1/8" bore 1600 PSI - Force on prop rod 1585lbs -pedal ratio 10.56:1

Well then.. Looks like ill need a 7/8" bore master cylinder since my Stock pedal ratio on the Sonoma is 7:1 so in my stated above I was wrong.. 7/8" I guess is what I'll be going with.

I ran a 7/8" with C6 Z06 brakes the pedal really wasn't that firm. It was a great setup for around town. Not too difficult to lock up the tires on hard stops either. Maybe not as ideal as a 15/16" or 1" for track days though.

i believe tobin recommended 7/8" front and 1" rear for my 6:1 setup. i agree he should be your first and last call before ordering parts.
