great pics Scott. As a kid we went to Roseville Speedway on Fridays and West Capitol Speedway on Saturdays. It was super modifieds and stockers back then.

Used to take our kids up to Placerville's Hangtown Speedway and watch the sprints, just a lot of fun.

The 410s are wicked. A buddy dragged me to see them years ago for the first time. I think my jaw dropped about as much as my first top fuel event. Great pics.

the most badass race cars on the planet would be f1...but sprint cars are fun to watch...but it is a push rod sbc

F1 is cool if you like parade laps of technology, but I prefer the sheer aggression of open wheel racing on dirt. I also prefer when race cars makes passes on the track and not in the pits. :).

I love pushrods. Wouldn't have it any other way.

very cool! When we went it was still a 1/4 mile dirt track. West Capitol was 1/2 mile and was real fast............... :wow:

Excuse my noobness, are these the same as the world of outlaw cars and do they make 800 hp on methonal? I love the outlaws, very cool racing.

This was the IRA, a midwest big motor sprint car sanctioning body. Most of these guys race with the Outlaws when they come up through this area. :thumbsup:
