Sorta cool..

You know you're in expensive company when you're the only car with lug nuts.. lol..

The big E3 electronic gaming show is in town and I guess Forza called up Meguiar's asking for some "old muscle built to handle" type car.. they thought of me to represent our segment.

Crazy exotic stuff.. half of it I can't even spell and have never seen in person like a Gumpert and Koenigsegg (drool)

They started setting up today (Tuesday) for the party Wednesday night.. lots of $$$ for 5 hours of party. I get a VIP pass and a guest pass.. open bar, food and some act supposed to play at 11pm. I think there's something going on with Top Gear.

Anyways, It's cool that a company like Forza even thought of our segement...

The set-up guys really liked it.. a few said "I would pick your car over the others." I thought they were just being nice.. hell, I would love the Gumpert of Koenig..

I will take some vid of the party.. Some new Lambo is supposed to show up as well as a big time ralley car.. There were three empty spots when I left.

That's just awesome, Steve. I have to agree, I think your car will be a huge draw as it offers such stark contrast to all the others. People will love it or hate it, but it will be a draw. Those are some stunning cars to be in the company of. :bow:

I think that bronze-colored car 2 posts back is a Spyker.

Jeebus Greg. I don't think I would say the others are far cooler. That R8 is one heck of a car, to put it mildly. I'm pretty sure it doesn't suck to be you (or your family).

The Spyker has some really cool interior design features and draws heavily on classic aircraft design. The exposed shifter linkage is really trick. It is Audi V8 powered and not really a supercar in terms of performance (I believe its a less powerful V8 than the R8 uses). The AP racing brakes are kinda cool though...

Congrats Steve. Your efforts with Penny sure have opened some pretty cool doors.

While E3 is a major dork fest gamer convention overall, this is a very cool thing for you to be a part of!

And while E3 is still an extravagant deal, it has been downsized immensely in recent years... my good friend used to manage the Playstation "booth" (more like a small city) and her annual budget... for just the booth for this event... was several million dollars. Yeah. Ridiculous.

Steve, your car would smoke many of those nice cars in a real performance event. :thumbsup:

As an aside...Geez, You would think they would get all of the lighting / rigging work done BEFORE parking all of that expensive iron in there. Those genie lifts are too close for comfort.

They told me they wanted to individually light each car so they needed them in place.. but yea, I could imagine dropping a light bank on one of those cars.. eek!

I'd still take your car over the others as well. (And I'm not just saying that because I am a pro-tour guy and we're both on the same forum.) While the other cars are very cool and very fast, I love the looks of the good 'ole American metal with some serious power and handling.:thumbsup:

I was told Forza 4 has a '68 Camaro in it.. and it can be orange.. lol

Party was a great time.. I took the famous Doug Renner with me as my guest since I know he can class up any party or gathering. Got there early and the place got really crowded. People seemed to dig the Camaro and I got quite a few compliments. Food was catered by Wolfgang Puck.. lots of drinks.

Mr Renner (Of Dougie Fresh on the street) is typically the center of attention.. this was no exception. They had a badass system set up and they were doing the "moderatly priced car challenge" from Top Gear. The car was a KIA and the track was a digital of the Top Gear airport test track in England.. very cool.

Obviously Mr Renner doesn't feel he has to watch the road...

As a side note, this event was top shelf--catered by Wolf Gang Puck, they had some famous DJ there and the drummer from Blink 182 was on the skins rockin it hard for about an hour---really amazing night. The drummer (I think his name is Travis) and his crew were very interested in Penny---came over to Steve after crowd had thinned out about 1:00 A.M. and sat in Penny while Steve ran him through the whole car---they exchanged info---so, if you see Penny on the cover of their new album, you will know why. We also got to see the guy that played Mr T. on the most recent A Team movie--guess his name is RAMPAGE in the UFC---he took cuts in line, was hammered, but Rupp put him in his place--I have photos.

Thanks again Steve---what a completely amazing night of exotic cars, music, free food and drinks, models and video games. Shoot, you couldn't make up something that good. Dibs on next year if available. LOL.

I guess Rampage can drive, he is in first place in that photo.
I guess he had plenty of practice, he uses the CHP to keep his skills up.
I think it was last year or 2 years ago he had the CHP chasing him, he didn't want to pull over.

Look at his time.. he was sorta drunk and tended to have "off track excursions"... nobody was brave enough to take his name off the top spot.. lol
