Do anybody know if the ports on the A/C pump need to be located at a certain angle? I made some custom mounts and mounted the pump off the frame. Currently they are located @ 12 o'clock (which is what I have normally seen) As the whole package is getting together (still in mock up) it would really be nice to located the ports @ 6 o'clock. Not sure if this would affect the way the system would work or not?

Thanks!

Thanks! They can't be pointed down as the compressor would not retained oil and would prematurely fail. Should be between 9 and 3 depending on which side of the car. I want to say I have read it somewhere as well

Thanks Mike! I'm still digging around on my end as well. Not a deal breaker. Just would have cleaned things up a little better. Oh well, function before form!! I'll leave where it's at!

My Vintage Air instruction say "make sure the compressor centerline does not exceed 90 degrees"

The picture shows the centerline as being where the oil fill plug is located....between the two fittings. So as a reference if you have the oil fill cap straight up on top...dont rotate it more than 90 degrees in either direction from there.

As Mike stated, its so the oil stays in the compressor
