Being a huge fan of the X frame cars, we here at RPM know first hand of all of the downsides to the stock X frame. Handling is nonexistent, exhaust routing is more than difficult and the aftermarket world has very little to offer to those who want more out of their car.

Recognizing the obvious need for a chassis that would eliminate all of the issues with the X frame, RPM teamed up with The Roadster Shop to design and develop a chassis that would take the Impala, BelAir, Biscayne, and all other X frame cars to the next level!

This new chassis incorporates a drastically stronger dual rail design with a structural center crossmember that will accommodate up to a 3" exhaust alongside the drive shaft. The bottom crossmember unbolts to easily remove the exhaust or the drive shaft. The front suspension is the proven RS Fast Track IFS based around a Corvette C6 Spindle. Standard rear suspension is a triangulated 4-bar but a parallel 4-bar and 3 link are optional. A heavy duty Ford 9" rear end housing with 31 spline axles sits between the rear frame rails that have been narrowed to accommodate up to a 14" wide rear tire. Front and rear Pro-Touring style billet coil over shocks with various brands, styes and spring rates optional. A splined front sway bar is standard and runs through the chassis giving it a clean appearance and keeping it out of the way.

This chassis utilizes all stock body mounting locations, bumper and core support mounts for easy installation without major floor modifications. Options such as air ride, upgraded coil over shocks, various front and rear disc brake packages, powder coating and many others available. Give us a call for more information and pricing! Build thread coming soon!

There is Very little needed. You do have to cut a little out of the floors where the pan dips down under the front seat. Shoot me a PM with your email address and I can email you more pictures.
