To fix a fat idle what is better to change on my speed demon 750VS? Idle feed restrictors or the idle air bleeds?

I'm not a fan of the BG carbs so i do not know whether or not you have screw in air bleeds. if you don't its a no brainer you will have to restrict the circut in the meetering block or start drilling the air bleed.
Before you do any of this you really need to check the rest of the carb:
Float levels first!! these cause more problems when adjusted high.
ook in the carb while the car is running to make sure there is no fuel dripping out of the boosters.
Make sure the throttle plates front and back are in the middle of the transfer slot so you are on the idle circut.
If all is good a quick way to see if this is the *fix* for you is to get a piece of 12 guage stranded wire and destrand it. the strand should end up around .015take a couple of the strands about 1/2" long, bend them in a 90* about a third of the way down and put one in each of the idle fuel transfer holes in the main body. (the little part in the idle fuel hole and the bent leg between the carb main body)so the leg sits between the gasket. This will restrict the fuel to see if this is your problem.

hanks for the info
I am just getting it all back together as well as adding a a/f gauge so I will try to re tune it using the a/f gauge with the basics then start on the IFR and or IAB if needed. I went to the local carb guy in my area and he recomended the IAB change rather than the IFR thats why I asked. As far as I have read it is better to do the IFR. My issue is niether is a scew in and BG is out of business making the press in IFR inpossible to get

BG went out of business for a very good reason.... EVERYONE I ever knew that tried to use their stuff had nothing but problems. Sad - because they had some nice LOOKING stuff and good ideas.

Yes I have heard many bad stories about them now but unfortunately not when I was in the market for it. I personally am quite happy with it other than I think it runs fat at idle. Other than that it has been a solid carb for me. Once it is running (I have this week off and plan to get it all buttoned up) I will know for sure as I bought an A/F ratio gauge for it as well as a MSD Digital 6A as you already know.
I hope to get it all dialled in as I cant wait to run this thing with all the extra power The new heads and bumped up compression will give me:D . Also see how the new ignition compares to the old.
