8's on the front should have about 4.75" BS. 10's for the rear will work great with 5.5" BS if its a stock length '66 rear end. Measure, measure, measure! Every car is slightly different. Thought I had ours nailed and the body was slightly out of square on the frame. Only got 3 out of the 4 wheels on the first try. A new set of body mounts and they all fit like a glove.

is that the chevelle you used those specs on, sits well.

We've perfected it, give us a call and we can hook you up:

18/19's on our 67:

The blue '66 is not the car I had done this with. We also have a '66 convertible that has 17" x 8" and 18" x 10" wheels on it.
The overall ride height of your car is more of an issue than just the drop spindle. A drop spindle with a factory big block spring may not sit as low as our car does with the drum brake spindles and the QA-1 coil overs cranked down. I only have 4.5" bs on my front wheels and the 245/45/17 tires do clear. They are close and 4.75 bs would have been better, but they never rub. I also run about .75 degrees of neg camber which helps too.
The lower you want the car to sit the farther in the tires will have to be because of the tops of the inner fenders. I'm having to go throught this all over again on the blue Chevelle as we are lowering it, a lot. The front wheels are going to have to move in almost an inch per side.

would the same back space measurements apply to a 65 chevelle as well? i will mini tub the back of mine but i am worried about tire size and the back spacing for it. the back is easy enough to hack or cut down the rear end to make the tires and wheels fit.

Nope, 65's are totally different, and we would run a completely different backspace on a 65 Chevelle.

66-67's can easily fit a 10" wheel in the rear, with a 275-285 wide tire, but on a stock 65, we run a 9", and its a tight fit. Now with tubing the back of your car, we just need to know by how much, and if your rear end is stock, a different year, or if custom, what measurement you narrowed it by each side.

For the front of a 65 an 8" wheel is super tight fit, but can be done. Call us, I can tell you exactly what measurements to take to confirm the backspace, and guide you down the right path to a wheel that will fit the build. :lateral:
